Could we spend a little NIL stockpile and call up Benny Hinn and have him come lay hands on Souza's shoulder??
He was charging 10k to show up in a hospital about 20 years ago and I am sure his rates haven't gone up that much.

Don't understand not bringing in Gaeckle to finish the rest of the game with a 2 run lead. Stupid decision now we burn him for a loss.

Yep, sucks.... Toast for the series now.

Jimenez has been our best bull pen arm all season. Perfectly reasonable to bring him in up 2 on the road against LSU. Not sure why he unraveled after a fluke infield hit.

If this team bombs out in a regional again I wouldn't mind seeing Dave retire. We need new blood like Kentucky with Calipari.

He's still young enough to have a few more years of coaching.

Yea lets live with him underperforming in the twilight of his career.
Thats so Arkansas.

Winning 40 games in baseball is the equivalent of a 9-win football season. As long as DVH stays in contention for the conference and hosts every year in the postseason, he can stay as long as he likes.
It's not "settling for mediocrity" to keep him. He's the only one, including Cal to this point, that is competitive enough in SEC play to say that.

As much as you and others might want him to step down, he's been here long enough to step down on his own terms.
He sells hope and positivity every off season and continues to pack Baum stadium.
I firmly believe that he'll be the HC in 2027, Natty or not.

So did Houston Dale Nutt.
And yes I completely understand he is going to have to go out on his terms.
I just hope his terms don’t end up him destroying his legacy because he was to prideful to hang it up.

The way the goal posts move for DVH is amusing.
It was settling for mediocrity when other coaches were shitting the bed in the post season but competitive in SEC play. At this point DVH was shutting the bed in SEC but making it to Omaha every four years or so, a similar cycle to HDN winning or competing for the SEC west.
Now that DVH has been competitive in SEC play but shitting the bed in the post season the claim is he's competitive enough in SEC play to not be settling for mediocrity.
After sweeping Texas and watching Texas struggle against Florida, the opportunity to be competitive for the SEC championship was given this weekend and DVH took a huge steaming pile on the pillow.
Since DVH has been HC at Arkansas, we've seen SCAR x2, Vandy x2, Miss State, Ole Miss, and Tennessee all win their first NC. I'm not sure one runner up finish is being competitive in the SEC landscape.

It was a depressing day when I finally realized Dale Denton was right about the whole athletic department.

No one knows what you are referring to here. Please be specific.

I was clearly referring to actual conference play. Van Horn has finished no worse than second in the West since 2017. In the first year after the divisions were done away with, the Hawgs are still mathematically in the hunt for the conference championship. Van Horn has won three conference championships overall and has one of only two conference tournament wins in any sport. The School is 2-38 (or some shite) overall in Southeastern Conference Tournament Championship games.
Arkansas is absolutely "competitive" in baseball. To insinuate anything otherwise is laughable.

You cut out one direct reference, HDN.
He had the football program in Atlanta once every 3.25 years, average. His bowl record was one of many complaints about him, but outside of the two year pass, Arkansas was damn competitive in the SEC, and hasn't been as competitive since in the SEC.
Mike Anderson was second in SEC wins behind Cal when he was fired due to lack of tourney success. Since then Arkansas has been lucky to win games in January.
The irony of both has seen the programs suck it up in SEC play after them, but have multitudes of more success in post season play. Basketball has advanced to the second week every year they made the tourney since. Football actually has a winning bowl record post HDN.
Knowing this, if a NC is the goal, the a change is warranted/needed. If being competitive in the SEC is enough, then it's hard to explain firings in other sports during the same time frame.
