Something feels different about this squad for me. And it’s a good thing lol

I'm cautiously optimistic. The offense has far exceeded expectations.
We need consistency from our Saturday starter and an elite closer. Moving GG to the closer role would achieve both.
Just hope we are the same team in June that we are now. We've been the best team in April several times without bringing home the trophy.

I keep trying to not got excited

It is definitely hard not to get excited with this team. We very well may fold the rest of the season, who knows. But we would all agree that being a top 8 national seed is the ultimate goal every season. To do that, this team would need to finish...
Current Record: 30-3, 11-1
@ UGA 1-2
aTm 2-1
@ Florida 1-2
Texas 2-1
@ LSU 1-2
Tennessee 2-1
So let's say we hold in our remaining midweek games (Ark St., Missouri State, UAPB, Little Rock x2). That gets us to 35 wins overall...
With the above finish, which to me is a pretty mediocre SEC season finish...we would be sitting 44-12, 20-10 and a top 8 seed. So finish at least .500 the rest of the way in league play and the Hogs are sitting in a fine position.
At some point, you just figure the bats will cool a bit. This current rate just cannot sustain itself IMO. We shall see though.

Those batting stats are shocking for our program. The home runs are great but I’m crazy about all the base hits and doubles. They are fun to watch right now.
Also kozeal and davalon mentioned that it helped having Nate Thompson in the dugout. Was he coaching the bases earlier?

I’d like to know what voodoo magic we adopted to improve our hitting

I do too.
My son went to a prospect camp up there and Bobby couldn't have been better to him. Just a great guy who really gave some good advice and made my son feel like a 5 star prospect (he's not lol)

Polk being a former teammate as well has got to be a huge benefit for those players. Understanding how to handle dvh as a player is huge.

You guys are such chicken littles. Do you think because Tennessee lost this weekend they're doomed too? If this team is it, they'll get hot and win when they need to. If not, it won't be because some publications rightly thought we had the best resume on 4/7/25.

DVH went in dry on all us at the Swatters Club over Nate.

Every fan of a serious college baseball team is in on the #1 curse joke, the superstition is part of the fun

Bobby W is an incredible baseball mind and a better person. Obviously still a long ways away, but wouldn’t mind seeing him as a head coach someday.
