SEC WEST
1. Arkansas 3-0, 17-2
2. Alabama 2-1, 17-3
2. Ole Miss 2-1, 15-6
2. Mississippi State 2-1, 15-6
5. aTm 1-2, 18-2
5. LSU 1-2, 17-4
7. Auburn 0-3, 13-6
SEC EAST
1. Vanderbilt 3-0, 18-3
1. Kentucky 3-0, 17-3
3. Florida 2-1, 12-7
4. Tennessee 1-2, 18-3
4. South Carolina 1-2, 15-5
6. Georgia 0-3, 17-4
6. Missouri 0-3, 9-11
Only 2 other sweeps this last weekend, with Kentucky over Georgia and Vandy over Auburn.
Ole Miss took their series over USCe, Bama won theirs against Tennessee, State beat LSU, and A&M dropped theirs to Florida.
Great to get the sweep against Missouri because regardless of level of competition, every win in the SEC is precious. Plus, a sweep allows you to even out a 1-2 series loss down the line.

Hogs unanimous #1 this week. No clue why NCBWA dropped Oregon State.

They needed a 5 run 9th inning comeback to beat Utah in game one and gave up 14 runs in their game 3 loss. Utah is absolutely terrible at baseball.

Was tongue in cheek…Hogs should’ve been above them in their poll last week. I mean, head to head and all.

Yeah, and their ace May that got hurt against us is still out. Sounds like he may return this weekend.

From the D1Baseball Weekly Chat:
quote:
Daniel: Is the pitching staff for Arkansas just that much further ahead than every other staff in the country at this point? Or are there other teams who could challenge them?
Aaron Fitt: My opinion is that yes, Arkansas is leaps and bounds ahead of every other staff in the country, comparable to the way Wake Forest’s staff was leaps and bounds above everybody else last year. Wake led the nation in ERA by almost a full run last year, and right now Arkansas (2.35) leads by a half-run over No. 2 Texas A&M (2.81) — but I think that gap will only widen, because I think Arkansas will continue to pitch at an elite level even against SEC competition, but I think other top staffs will struggle more against better competition. This Arkansas staff checks every box — a weekend rotation filled with three legit Friday night aces, plus a deep and varied bullpen with lots of options from both sides. Power stuff galore, and they pound the zone (lead the nation in K-BB rate, 4.64 to 1).

Corey: Should Hagen Smith continue playing at the level he’s currently playing, what’s the ceiling on his draft stock? I’m sure he might have a rough outing or two in the SEC, but he is dominant right now. Also, do you feel he’s very close to MLB ready now? Thanks gentlemen for all your hard work, D1 is tops in my book!!!
Aaron Fitt: His ceiling is No. 1 overall, and that might be where he is on my personal board right now. I can’t quite decide if I like Hagen or Chase Burns more, but both are elite, top-of-the-draft guys. And yes, if you put either one of them in a big league bullpen tomorrow, they would be able to get big outs, because it’s high-end MLB stuff.

It'll be interesting how many innings he can go.
Huge opportunity missed with the bases loaded.

Most maddening ab of the season there from Diggs. 2 on no out 3-2 count guy can't get his breaking ball over for a strike and he takes a straight 92mph fb right down the middle. Killed that inning.

Time to rock their reliever

So apparently our lineup just decides they can take the night off when Hagen’s on the bump.
