Was thinking more along the lines of who could play short or 2nd. Slavens will sometimes feast on midweek type pitching.

Yep, can tell. When he gets rustled he starts swinging for the fences. Ben is seeing the ball better.

The problem with Slavens is that he presses bigtime when he gets behind in a count.

The book has been out on him for a while that if you get him down 0-2 or 1-2, pitch him low and away and he’ll swing at trash.

He is who he is at this point.

I’m rather excited about the prospect of McLaughlin as our everyday 1st baseman next year. He is and has been the best pure hitter on the team.

Yikes. I woke up and checked the score and was hoping for a typo. Hope they get it together here.

Good move.

I’m willing to make a potential sacrifice on defense if it means getting McLaughlin’s bat in the lineup.

Coll hit a homer against TCU, but he’s quietly been a hole in the lineup in his appearances outside of midweek games.

Ballpark is playing really small this weekend. Tomorrow may be like Stillwater last year.

Tre Richardson was basically the human embodiment of the 2022 Stillwater Regional.

For sure. And Josy having 3 knocks this weekend.

I bet on a typical buam day those are all warning track shots.

Hell that homer by wegner was only 96 mph off the bat and cleared the fense in left/center.

When Bolton has a warning track shot and a foul ball that hits the Hunt Center all in the same game, the ballpark is definitely playing small

Any chance Gage Wood starts tomorrow if we win tonight? Kind of a gamble but it seems like that’s the position we’re in.

I don’t see why not. He’s pitching some time tomorrow. Smith will come in at the highest leverage situation.

I think they probably have Tygart go as long as possible tonight to reduce the bullpen usage.

Bats have to get going and pull away here.

I don’t think they have enough trust with Wood right now to put him in any sort of critical or leverage situation. He’s having control issues and his velo is down. I could see them maybe pitching Wood for 3ish outs tonight if we get a bit further ahead.

Definitely need to put up a big number this inning. Putting mcentire in would pretty much guarantee that we have zero chance of winning two tomorrow unless DVH just feels like TCU would destroy him.

I really don’t want to use mcentire tonight. My gut says we can’t beat TCU twice without him and Tygart.
