This is what I’m talking about. Being up double digits, and collapsing.

I guess I’ll die on this hill but I just don’t think “going for the highlight plays” is a big factor in the 2nd half collapses

I think it’s tired legs, teams making 2nd half adjustments, etc.

I don’t think our kids are dumb enough to try highlight reel dunks over and over and over again to the point of blowing 10+ point leads.

More of a momentum thing that opened the door for the collapse.

I read that Altman is whining publicly about how bad their fan support is right now. They only get like 5k fans a game. We are pretty lucky to have good fans, facilities, and a coach right now. Not easy to have all that at once.

Altman got pretty close to pay me my money and I’ll leave. Said he didn’t care, he loves coaching junior college because those players want it more and he’d be fine doing that.

No better way to show that than Ricky Council having an opportunity to possibly posterize somebody during the Kansas game. Instead of rolling the dice and maybe getting a dunk maybe getting a charge, he pulled up and laid it in off the glass.

He's just a fricking whiner. He apparently needs some dream perfect scenario to win or he wants out....

I don’t know what it is, but it reminds me of all Arkansas sports, get up big and play not to lose, which never works out for us.

To me it's a combo that lost those games

Legs get tired and defense suffers.

Free throws percentage sucks.

Youth happens making silly plays turnovers and failed highlight attempts.

In general our shot selection is hot garbage. Has gotten better but still pretty mediocre.

Combo of empty possessions tired legs, no free throw points and bad shot selection makes the offense disappear while the defense is weak and boom they're back in it.

We will drive the ball at them over and over unless or until they show they can stop it. This will rack up fouls against them and limit their fast break opportunities that lead to open threes. When Kamani is in the game, we can also limit their fast break opportunities by Kamani getting offensive boards and letting everyone else stay back because Kamani is a one man rebounding machine on offense.

On defense, Devo Walsh, and Black should help disrupt their three point shooting with tight defense and length.

We will play with more energy and aggression, winning the rebound and turnover battle.

We will make free throws as we did the first two games.

If any of the above doesn’t happen though, I don’t like our chances.

IF, big IF, the team that played and improved this weekend shows up I think we will win. If we play like we did most of the season we lose.

Devo mentioned it after the game and again in his HogPod interview. It has finally clicked with this team and I think holding that lead against Illinois helped in that.

UConn is typically a M2M team and that favors us, if they try out a zone we have to be able to get them out if it like we did with Kansas when we came back. They tried a Zone for 2 or 3 possessions and we still got to the rim or hit a jumpshot.

We also have to use our speed to get Clingan and Sonago in foul trouble.

I think our guards are quick and long enough to get them off the 3 pt line. We've played good 3pt teams all year (Alabama anyone) and have limited their shots.

And lets be honest here, you can't run white boys out on the court an expect them to keep up with our guards. Dick was supposed to be an all world shooter and athlete who averages 14 a game and he did absolutely nothing Saturday. 7 pts for him that game.

Everybody says Clingan whose 7'2 is going to block all our guards shots and keep us from scoring inside. I say he's a slow white 7ft guy who Devo and Council will eat alive.

Calcaterra plays about 10-15 min a game and I believe Council will posterize him at some point if he gets caught up in a screen.

Lastly, people forget St Mary's lost their best shooter in that game. Once he went out UConn took over. It wasn't like they blew out St Marys at their toughest.

In the end my advice, if your low on Nitroglycerin grab a refill on the way home from work Thursday because your going to need it.

Zimmerman said on the HogPod this team practiced yesterday with unbelievable energy and they are going in believing they are going to win this game. Probably haven't had that much confidence in a while.

Because God wants those not quite formed UCONN’t jokes that are floating in my head to come to fruition.

Altman can EAD as far as I'm concerned. He pulled a fast one on us but I think we lucked out there. He is a boring guy and he hasn't figured out that being a personality does make a difference. Muss might turn some people off with this antics, but he was also on the Jim Rome show twice last week. Think Altman would have done that? Not a chance. He's a loser.

Just saw a Dick’s ad - it had mostly random folks on it, about coaches changing kids lives and a short few seconds of the Texas tech gals volleyball (basketball?) team and then Muss and last years team locker room celebrating at the end. Is that new?
