So, would you rather have Beard, Marshall, or Dixon?

Beard, Marshall and Dixon but as UH said, Dixon is out on that buyout alone

If it was up to me I'd just grab Marshall and be done with it

I would go for Beard 1st if there is a 5% chance... Then Marshall.

But, I am surprised UCLA doesn't pay for Dixon.

I agree. Folks bitch about wanting to be the best, so if they are making a run at the best coach, then good on them. If it doesn’t work, seems like the other options are good as well. Seems like we are in a pretty good situation, honestly.

UCLA is looking for cheap and not good of they aren’t willing to buy him out. Great history at that school but everything I’ve read says their facilities are behind the times and they aren’t investing anymore. They have been looking since January they already knew Dixon’s buyout. Nobody wants to coach there anymore.

Arkansas is still the domino everybody is waiting to fall.

Absolutely. Contrary to popular belief, the sky isn’t falling.

UCLA has no money. The state of California has no money. That's what happens when literally a third of your population is foreign-born and totally living off the Gov't.

Not to get too socioeconomic, but the disparity in real income in that state is cataclysmic. Silicon Valley props up the overall state GDP, but outside of that super elite quarter, the state has some of the poorest, most destitute residents in the country (just like what happens in all socialist-type societies).

It's no coincidence that in a state that giant, seemingly that ultra-rich, municipalities have not had a football stadium built since the 1960s.

New field in LA is totally private.

Yes, taxpayer bases finally wised up and stopped voting to fund them, but they only did so after being totally crushed by state and local taxes and fees, leaving them so pissed they shut down any kind of new tax they actually have to power to.

UCLA is a state controlled school. They can't even pony up enough money to remodel their facilities, but unlike at a place like Miamiz which also has poor facilities, UCLA has a massive, rich donor base, but I guess they just dont care enough.

There's also getting a coach to live there. They know going in they're going to be on the cheap, and then you add in cost of living in Westwood and all the damn state tax, then you're basically making Eric Musselman, mid-major money.

Unless you're a dyed in the wool Cali guy, I don't know how you lure anybody there when they can go to Texas or Midwest and Southern Schools, with far more money, and just as good of a chance to win, and pay far less to live there.

UCLA as it is presently operated, will never again be a sporting powerhouse in basketball. They're fighting for second and third tier coaches. And outside of 1995 (still hurts), they haven't won a title in like 45 years.

Ray Tucker, Warren Stephens, and the LR money men Jeff pissed off are back in the fold and ready to spend some cash.

Time to start winning again.

Jeff buddy buddied up to the limp wrist NWA crowd and it was our downfall. Glad to see HY mending those fences.

A lot of central Arkansas power got pissed over the Little Rock games getting jacked with. We all know it was the right move but when that first started it was real ugly. Stephens started pouring money into UALR. 21 million went to build the Jack stephens Center, refurbished the Naval academy football stadium, Dickey Stephens Park and a few others were the benefactors in that fued.

I’m sure others in central Arkansas have thrown money at other institutions as a show of discontent as well.

Nah UAF is making strides to repair that relationship. They put Warren in the Arkansas Business HOF last month. That’s ran by the Walton School of Business. He’s somebody who should have been in long ago. The guy took over as CEO in the 80’s and made Stephens what it is today.
