Meh. Missouri came close to winning it with 30-40ish recruiting

We got there ourselves. But how about winning it?

It's not impossible, but it's a frick ton more improbable.

Filling needs and providing depth is the goal of every team in recruiting, getting guys who "fit" is important as well.

ocelot will continue to more the goalposts in his rants.

Half of this class by bama will be processed to Northern Alabama, Western Georgia, Jacksonville St, etc this time two years from now.

I love how everyone was bitching about Petrino's shite recruiting, but now defend a class ranked 11th in the SEC and in the 30's nationwide. Same shite, different year.

and Petrino won 21 games in 2 years with classes ranked in the 30s, so your argument just got kicked in the balls.

When was the last time an SEC team won the conference averaging 30'ish in recruiting? It matters. The highest probabilities of getting to the NFL lies in the 4 and 5 star players. I never said we couldn't field a good team without them.

Like Reagan said, "there you go again."

Again, I never said you can win the SEC without highly rated recruits; rather, I was responding to your shortsighted view that Kentucky's recruiting class this year should give us pause.

I will say that recruiting rankings are much more defined than they were when all this shite started getting big 10 years ago. There's multiple sites and multiple rankings, but most are pretty similar. It's not an exact science, but it's much better than it used to be.

Kentucky had an elite 11 and like 3 ESPN top300 recruits instate, that would be an anomaly like the 08 recruiting class here.

Stoops figured out Ohio was a couple hours away from campus instead of trying to steal players out of Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and the Carolinas like the previous coaches have done there.

Who knew there is less recruiting competition against B1G schools than than everyone in the SEC and ACC going after the same recruits.

I've been saying this for pages upon pages. We're not special. Our class didn't fill needs any more than Bama's. They just filled their needs with superior players.

Do you know MA? TJ?

Why is that the only solution? We signed two players from Texas.

TWO.

..And they're more highly refined with the surge in camps, 7-on-7, all star games, readily available videos, etc.

Its like preseason rankings. Different places will have different ranks that move closer to each over over time. By time the season starts they are all nearly the same.
