Your post made it sound like stars don't matter, our classes compared to other SEC classes doesn't matter...
What matters? And what are we doing that our contemporaries don't? We have to compare ourselves to others somehow, not just ourselves.

Also, the staff lists 4 LBs in this class...Hackett, Ramsey, Tolliver, and Eugene
Nice catch. I had not even noticed that when watching the show but just went back and looked and sure enough Tolliver is listed as a LB.
Surely that has to be a mistake?

You're right.
Seems he and another of our commits had a growth spurt since committing.

That is a helluva growth spurt. Now I'm thinking we didn't sign enough CB's.

But he and Hatcher are the only ones I'm remotely excited about, just because I have no idea what to expect from the commits. Wish Melvinson hadn't left...
Agreed. While I think our receiver corps will be better in terms of talent and depth over what we had in 2013, it's still not a team strength by any stretch of the imagination.

Coach B just called Tolliver a CB in his press conference.

Congrats on a great class Hogs. Now if you would kindly stay out of the state of Missouri when recruiting it would be much appreciated. Seriously though, you guys once again did a great job of poaching some of the Missouri talent.
Congrats all the way around.

Thanks.
Serious question, why does Missouri have such a hard time keeping these guys in state? Even as poor of a recruiter as Petrino was, he was able to get top talent from Missouri.

It is kind of head scratching.
The #1 player in MO Brian Wallace that we got, didn't even seem like Missouri was even a factor for him at all.

I can't speak for the whole state, but in St. Louis, for the longest time there was a bad relationship between the local coaches and Columbia. Pinkel, as of late, has made strides to mend fences with many of the local coaches.
Also, for nearly 2 decades Missouri damn near shut down their athletic department. The powers that be were all about education and close to nothing about athletics. As a result the teams sucked and the perception, at least in St. Louis, was that you only go to Mizzou to play if you can't go somewhere else. Like I said, Pinkel is making strides to change that perception but it's a long road.

I get the impression that most people in Missouri don't give a flying frick about Mizzou.

The best was Roderick Johnson who committed to FSU. Johnson, Wallace and Bauer pretty much rotated among the top 3 for the last couple of years. Johnson was asked about whether or not he was considering Mizzou and he said yeah, sure, I think I visited them. The kicker is that he had just visited Columbia like two weeks prior. Lasting impression huh?

Pretty much.
Here in Springfield there is as many Hog fans as Mizzou fans if not more, and that goes for the whole area.
Further North in KC and STL it's few and far between that care.
