Afraid of the competition?

I'm not so sure we needed to add ANOTHER offensive lineman anyway unless one of the existing commits isn't going to make it. Lets use that scholly for some defensive help.

Yeah I wondered if Mike might be the backup plan in case we didn't get Ragnow. He decided to take the other visit just a day or so before Ragnow announced, and I wonder if that's when our coaches were notified of Ragnow's decision.
This is pure speculation, but it seems plausible.

Like I said, him taking the extra visit was bad news for us.
Yup, looking for any reason to not choose Arkansas or more likely we landed Ragnow, and confident in Pruitt and don't have the space for another OL in this class.
I think Tretola, Pruitt, Wallace, Ragnow is fine provided we can keep this OL recruiting momentum going and get 4 more highly regarded ones next season. You almost need 5 a class to keep the depth where you want it, but inevitably there's going to be guys not playing as much as they want or hoped.

That's exactly what I thought as well.

He was a 4 when he committed, I just never changed it.
IIRC there was talk about him being one of the top players in the country when he was in the 9th and 10th grade. It wasn't hype like Monk's case, but I think he was rated as a 5* the first time and has dropped since then.

Pruitt is going to sign. Will be a sign and place.

Why sign him if he's not going to make campus?

Helps make the 85, gives a better shot after JUCO.
Overall, a waste of a scholarship.

Not a legit JUCO placement.
He doesn't need two years. Just needs a correspondence course to get something right.
I'd imagine he can enroll next January.

That sounds like a gray shirt candidate.

So grey shirt? We still have 5 spots

If it's a correspondence course then you do that shite now and get it wrapped up by the time his graduating class walks so he's good to go.
It it's just one course they'll sign him and he'll be here for summer school.

It must be some class that isn't offered or something. I don't know exactly. Just know what I was told today.

can't he gray shirt like Demetrius Dean did a couple years ago and that fall semester just get his grades and then enroll in January?
Posted on 2/1/14 at 6:53 pm to RazorHawg
Dean went to community college his first semester out of high school. Enrolled in January.
