That's on rivals. He's been a 3* and top 3 kicker on 247 since he was initially rated.

he's now a 3* across every service, rare for kickers

with all the recognition he's received, he certainly deserved the 3rd star

You guys know how I bitch about kickers being undervalued in the rating system given how important they are to actually winning games.

Don't tell me back up QB's that never play are 4* but kickers that drill FG's and win games are only 2*

Looks like it's pretty common these days for top kickers to be rated 3*. I went through the 247 composite rankings and #2-#9 were all 3*'s on all four services.

I think 24/7 has just recently started doing that (rating them higher). Looks like Rivals has ranked the top 8 or so every year as 3 stars.

I don't understand why kickers aren't rated on a similar scale to other positions

Kohl's Kicking and Chris Sailer Kicking both rank the best as 5 stars. It's hard to understand why the 4 main recruiting services don't value them.

It makes no sense considering how many games are won each season at all levels based off of kickers abilities.

Yeah, and that's some of stupidest shite I've ever heard (eliminating PAT's)

Reading through about our kicker commit makes me smile and remember how we lost our 4* kicker to Texas and picked up Zach Hocker. I'm going to miss Hocker, became one of my favorite players. Maybe it was just lucky for him he came in after Tejada.

Very true. Never understood why hardly any kickers ever get a 4th star when it's a position of enormous importance at this level.

I'd trade a stud receiver for a stud kicker any day of the week.

I think Hocker's one of those guys who we won't understand how much we'll miss him until some time passes. He was an all time great kicker here, and you could make the argument (I have) that he was our best player in 2012.

I definitely never took for granted the confidence I had when he came out for field goals.

Young is at Bret's house having Cajun food.

My friend who works at Cafe Rue says he's been cooking for him all day.
