Not a fan of the Texas D line guy. That defense sucked past few years at UT and Mack didn't have his hands all over it being the CEO type coach. Also Oscar Giles looks like the better recruiter of the two from UT and they split DT's and DE's up with two coaches like we did in the past. Davis has been at LSU, Bama and Texas. All three easier places to recruit than Arkansas with talent all around. I mean how hard is it to recruit Texas kids to be Longhorns and he didn't blow it up comparing to like what Partridge did everywhere. I don't see how just having the former UT D-line coach will benefit us in TX HS's when UT hires this next coach. TX kids will always want to play for Longhorns so I do see the advantage.
He may get the job and be great, just right now I don't see it.

I'm sitting here watching the cotton bowl . Damn near every good player for both teams is from Texas.
Why we don't push harder to recruit Texas is beyond me.

We try.. you just have TAMU, UT, OU, Baylor (winning recently), Okie State, Alabama, LSU picking out top players then Oregon, Ohio State, ND and others nationally recruiting there

Another update from Steve Wiltfong on the Bama 247 about Wallace:
Hey guys, I didn't most more because based on what I had from my source, I didn't have much more. I didn't just change my Crystal Ball because it's locked, or I would have changed it to the Razorbacks.
The news is, I think he's going to Arkansas now. Sorry I haven't responded all day. I do believe Alabama was the team to beat until just before Wallace left for San Antonio. I think the tide turned late last week for whatever reason.
We'll see what Brian does tomorrow.
