yea but then you come check out NWA and see that it isn't a third world country down here. Iowa might actually be a third world country.

Well yeah but most people don't know that and aren't really that interested in finding out. One of our biggest hurdles with recruits is that most of them picture Fayetteville as this podunk backwoods small town full of hillbiillies. And because of this, they are more likely to mark us off their list before we ever get a shot to get them to step on campus.

From what I can tell that stereotype is going away pretty quickly. even under petrino we saw it go away some.

It helps when your HC doesn't sound like a backwoods reverend hick...

However, we've never struggled in basketball recruiting, except for Pel who was a complete failure on all levels, most of the top basketball recruits come from Urban areas...

Jalen Hudson (6'5" 185 SG Akron, OH, 89 overall 3 star, #161 Top247) to announce decision on Friday.

Between Arkansas and VaTech.

All 5 247 predictions are for Arkansas, this would complete the 2014 basketball class.

Hope we get him, I like his size and athleticism at the 2, mainly his size.

Pel has forever scared my soul with the under 6 foot club of guards...

Here comes second place from SecondPlaceville. They're changing the name soon to NOGamesville pretty soon.

Good news on Ravian <----- this is on the topic of recruiting.

Please ensure all responses follow suit.

Did we accept his commitment? Sounded like we might be waiting on word from a couple others...

First time it's ever been confirmed on the pay boards though.

Any of you know if Junction City junior Jaqwis Dancy is getting any attention from any D1 schools? 4 games in he has 787 yds.

I know a few coaches down south and they say right now the kid is better than Strongs Kenneth Dixon.

Just curious if anyone on the pay boards have been talking about him.

The only thing I ever see is the random mention in the "unofficial" visitors thread which turns in to pretty much every HS football player in the state who makes it to the game.

According to Otis (take that for what its worth) they had some concerns on his academics. When he visited he brought all the paperwork, we had our guys look over it, and they have signed off saying they feel he will qualify. Supposedly that is all we were waiting on.
