The Rummel kids didn't mind it because they play Jesuit and are rivals but with the more "Urban" schools it might make a difference.

Didn't realize Coach Smith was from down there. Just reinforces my giddiness over his hire. I think we kinda lucked out with McDonald taking that Syracuse job. His strong area was in Florida, where we've already got 3-4 guys with solid contacts, but Smith seems to be the only one on staff with a connection to S. Louisiana, which is a huge area we've needed to pry our way into for 20+ years.

I have no doubt that Smith will be able to do work in SELA.

I wouldn't say we lucked out with Mcdonald getting the Syracuse job but Smith was definitely an awesome replacement. I think he's a better receivers coach than Smith but they're both fantastic recruiters.

Otis: As far as switching to Hogs, I have a very good source who guarantees Hogs will get Evans and has for some time.

When he visits, it'll be game over.

I've felt rock solid 100% on Evans being a Hog from the get go.
Probably why I really don't care about Lamin and say he's going to SC.

Can't wait to see Bielema getting accused of cheating when he signs another 5-star(Eluemunor is about to get the bump on Scout) and about 10 4-stars.
SECRB tears will be delicious.

Speaking of Lamin, he said on twitter he'll 'most likely' decide on Monday.
Posted on 7/25/13 at 3:18 am to Woopigsooie20
Saw that on our 247 board but the replies seemed to indicate he isn't actually deciding Monday.
That was the consensus.
I still predict him to SC.

Cornelius will make his decision "around" Aug 23rd. We are his leaders. He just went to Auburn this weekend. I cant' find a single thing about his visit on their 247 board. Either I missed it, they didn't care that he was there, or they didn't know he came down for a visit. He still has Mizzou to go see at some point and then should pick from those 3.

Smith did help diversify our recruiting areas. It is hard to say McDonald was a loss since he never coached a game here but it did cost us a WR last year. Smith brought someone along with him though so I guess it wasn't a total wash. In the end though I think adding someone with LA connections was more important. In 1 class he has already got us as many commits from that state as we had from 2010-2013.

Smith is a good coach. McDonald was a better coach and recruiter though.

He would have to be cheating 'cause: "he won't have the recruiting success to become a true power with his offensive scheme. It can be effective but your going to need some serious size and talent to compete with the best in the league."
He would have to cheat to recruit good, cause he doesn't have the support staff in recruiting to do good and you make better connections to recruiting serious talent after a year spent in the Sunbelt vs. a decade in the big10.

since when is focusing on having great line play known as the saban/miles method and not, like, basicgood football strategy?

This confuses me also. It seems obvious to win in this league you have to have great line play. Hell I spent most of 2012 yelling at my TV over lack of protection/pressure.

Because with the HUNH you don't need good linemen because you play fast, run a lot of screens, sweeps, and trick plays and shite, linemen only have to get in the way of Dlinemen, not block them.
Also offense wins championships now, apparently.

Wtf is going on here?
Can you convene in the other thread so the recruiting thread doesn't get mucked up with this tiff?
