They gave us 4k crappy tickets. Didn’t even put us where they usually put visitors. They spread us across a few rows of uppers behind their side

Oops. We are in Bb and it calls for red. Guess we won’t wear our usual crimson

If it's any consolation, the view is better than you'd think.

I don’t know if you guys have rented cars already but the metro system works really well here so I’m using it to get around. Despite what the website says you can only buy the passes at the main headquarters. $5 a day max so I just got a $15 card
Saturday after the game I’m renting a car to go to Green Bay Sunday.

- Madison is on an isthmus and, more specifically, campus lines Lake Mendota. Walk Lakeshore Path from the Terrace to Picnic Point. Quite the walk, but very relaxing and good way to burn some steps after the food and beer. This route also takes you near the west side of campus, which includes UW Health (second-largest employer in the state) and some of the non-revenue sports complexes.
I haven't had the opportunity to spend a lot of time in Madison but did pass through in early May several years ago. Stopped long enough to check out campus and Camp Randall and the aforementioned isthmus area of where the state capitol building is. Lovely, clean city and the isthmus is really unique and pretty with the lake views.
Bummed out because my girlfriend and I had the perfect setup for this year's game in Madison where we were going to stay with what she calls her "bonus family" (her best friend's family who is like family to her) who lives about 30 minutes from Madison but her company's annual work conference ended up getting scheduled this week in San Antonio and she just got back last night so those plans fell thru. Was looking forward to it too because Madison is what I consider one of about 3 or 4 of the Big Ten road trips I've always wanted to visit as an Alabama fan.
We'll just have to watch tomorrow's game from the lovely shores of Mobile Bay here in Fairhope, AL (which is about a 30 minute to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach btw) instead

Hey all, welcome to Madison. Happy game day!! We might look like a lightweight on paper, but I still never expect to lose, especially at home. Logic be damned. Let's hope for a hard fought, injury-free game.
It's late now, but in case anyone is looking to fill their Sunday still, there is an interesting history angle in Madison that some of you might appreciate. Camp Randall started life as a literal army camp, training 70,000 of Wisconsin's 90,000 troops during the civil war. There are quite a few monuments/statues on the grounds still. Tough to see on game days but pretty cool if you are into history and have some time afterwards. In addition to a training ground (birthplace of the famous Iron Brigade) Camp Randall also served briefly as a POW camp, housing around 1,400 soldiers, primarily from Alabama, after the battle of Island Number Ten in 1862.
Over 100 soldiers from Alabama are still here, located just about 10 minutes up Regent Street from the stadium at Forest Hill Cemetery. That area, Confederate Rest, is the Northernmost Confederate graveyard in the country. Thought I would share in case anyone was curious. Just be prepared, this is the North, and the graveyard is in one of the most liberal cities in the country. The perspective and honor given this site is ...different than down there. Respectful but muted.
Good luck out there today. I think it might be closer than most suspect...

I echo Boz. Folks been really nice. Beautiful city. Great transportation. Amazing food. The student section just booed the hell out of me as I egged them on
We are having a good time.
Also shout out to Greg Byrne for coming out and greeting and speaking to everyone at the players entrance. I’ve met him a few times so
I already know he is a man of the people but he always takes time to do things like that. Great guy.

We were well represented. All the Wisconsin fans were talking about how well we traveled. By the end of the game it was almost all Alabama fans left. I’d guess we were 30-35% of the fans. Tons of Bama fans in Green Bay today too.
