So one half against Georgia where they went 5/5 on fourth down? That means the defense did pretty good on third down, right?

For a few reasons:
1. I give a lot of money to the school, guess what my gift was this year? Minus invite to the scrimmage? A fricking windshield cover for when you’re parked. Sure I get perks with a text message and that kind of stuff but I don’t owe them shite of an explanation when we drop to Vandy as to why I’m mad.
2. Legacy of being winners and dominating our opponents for damn near 100 years. I went to Bama this is personal. A player acts up, gets arrested etc, it’s a poor reflection on us all. Losing to Vandy is unacceptable.
That’s all.

I think this is more an issue of trusting the coaching staff, and even trusting the current "system" of how college athletics is run.
There were disturbing signs in the last game that the staff had a poorly-prepared team on the field, and did a poor job handling in-game situations. And we KNOW that at least one player displayed a very poor ability to meet the "Bama standard".
In the end, it's fans who decide whether to write the big checks or not, based on their belief and trust that the program is on sound footing and will remain that way.

I went to Bama as well. I give a lot of money as well. That didn't stop the Shula years from happening.....nor the Dubose years. My money has never made that kind of impact. I realize that Saban has retired and there will be some bumps in the road. I'm willing to wait a couple of months before I jump off the I-65 Tennessee River bridge. You do realize we went thru a run with Saban that is downright silly? The game is vastly different now. There will never be a run of dominance like that again......ever.

It's just a game I'm not even playing. I'm in my 40s. I've been on this site for 17 fricking years. If I go through my post history, I was a hell of a lot more invested back then, so I get it. But it's a game. I turn on the tv. I yell a little bit. Drink too much whiskey. Talk shite on here.
But my trust in the team? Who gives a shite? It's entertainment. My favorite entertainment, but that's all it is.
So, I'm just going to enjoy every Saturday I can, and I guess I trust that they will be on the field for the foreseeable future. That's good enough.

Need to reset our thinking back to 2008. Before all this bullshite "all that talent" became the mantra. We're almost dead even with teams now when we take the field. Team has to perform really well each week to avoid a loss.
Depending on the coaching staff to outsmart every team we play isn't a plan.
Whip the guy in front of you!
These next two games will clearly show everything about this staff and players. Good or bad.

Win games
I won't trust the defense for a while, but that doesn't really matter. Win the next 2 weeks and we're in a great spot for the final stretch run.

My jock is up and tight brother. But I’m allowed to be critical. I think we bounce back. I’ve thought so since square one. I am pissed though.

Getting beat in every phase of the game by Vandy has put a big arse dent in everyone’s psyche. Never in Alabama’s history has an opposing team possessed the ball 40+ minutes. Vandy did that.
