He is effing right on this. Coker has to be the most maddening QB at not throwing the ball away. I yelled roughly 10 times at the TV "THROW THE frickING BALL AWAY YOU DIPSHIT" on Saturday.

Jake does seem to lack the ability to feel the rush, much like McElroy, but he's also shown some of the grit Greg had by making plays when he had to. I just think things haven't slowed down for him as quickly as the coaches had hoped, although I think he's improving.

The one thing that's had me yelling at the TV most - get the friggin plays in to him! Every game you'd see him looking at the sideline waiting for the play call, then having to rush to get everyone on the same page and snap the ball with 3 seconds on the play clock. They did a much better job overall with this Saturday.

I only remember one play where he blatantly didn't throw it away. McElroy in 2010 was bad and frustrating, Coker hasn't been nearly that stubborn.

He took some sacks in this game that he shouldn't have....he can make plays with his legs if he has the space, but when the pocket collapses he is getting bottled up he is doomed.....He is not nearly as athletic as Blake Sims was who could make those plays.

He's actually escaped plenty of collapsed pockets, and has gotten first downs on quite a few with his legs.

I can count 4 right off the bat. He rolls back on himself on multiple occasions when he should have just tossed it.

I'd like to see replays, because I definitely do not remember 4. I might rewatch the game again tonight.

sheesh there were at least a half dozen plays he shouldve thrown the dang ball away saturday. i understand he trys to make plays with his feet but hey, when a play is dead, its dead. throw the freaking ball away.

i personally wish they'd put bateman in on goal line plays. he has a quicker delivery and more athletic.

I feel like Coker has been good in the redzone this year

whatever dude, your free to see it as you see it, i'm free to see the game as i see it.

i remember spending an inordinate amount of time yelling at coker to throw the dang ball away. if the oline cant block then coker has to be smart enough to throw it away, simple as that.

plus, as evidenced saturday where cokers slow delivery cost bama a td, i'd like to see the swap. but hey, its a free country, stick with coker on your team all day long.

Well I will be rewatching the game and will make note of all the times Coker should have thrown it away. If you are right, then i will eat crow

He was only sacked 5 times.

Which positive yardage plays would you rather he had thrown away?

There was probably 3 times that he scrambled like crazy and took some hits just to badically get back to the LoS.
