We actually could end up at #4 in the AP if we win out and
TCU loses
OSU/UM is a blowout game (with the loser falling below us)
LSU is blown out in SECCG (or loses to UAB or TAM prior)
USC drops to UCLA, Notre Dame, or the pac 12 CG
There's no way we actually get to #4 in the CFB committee though as the world would lose their mind with 3 SEC teams in + the Big X champ, but there's a plausible (if unlikely) roadmap

I can just hear the homers on BamaOnLine arguing "but Notre Dame shut their offense out for 3 quarters. Pete Golding will eat their lunch"..... Yeah, meanwhile, Pitt and Florida both put on better defensive performances against Tennessee. Arkansas put on a defensive clinic against an LSU team we surrendered 32 points to. But sure, Pete The Defensive Wizard will shut that offense down. Bet the house on it!
