You are right about the president having a major influence. Alabama's program suffered twice in my lifetime because of presidents that did not care about football. Is the foreign language requirement for all students including engineering? I did not know most universities required foreign languages for B. S. degrees. If this is true I have been under a rock all my life, which is not too far fetched. Maybe for B. A. degrees?

My 2 cents on Shaun Alexander. He was the best running back to play at Alabama. He was a great pass receiver. I wondered why Seattle did not use him more in that capacity.
