Brooks was singles out by Saban for praise earlier in camp. Maybe Holden just came on and beat him out by his own performance. It doesn’t have to be Brooks faltering.

Holden was fantastic in the open scrimmage. As in, noticeably getting open and making multiple difficult catches.
Who knows what the rest of his fall camp has looked like, but in the small snapshot outsiders saw he played WR like a guy who can start on a very good team.

You'd think with as many guys as we have had who spent 2-3 years as backups before having a breakout season and going in the first couple of rounds of the draft people would stop getting bent out of shape over an upperclassman starting over a younger player a bunch of recruiting analysts with as much experience coaching football as I have awarded an extra gold star to in high school.
Also, Alabama depth charts generally mean frick all at WR, RB, and DL in terms of playing time. RB and DL rotate constantly and we play with 4 WRs a good bit and sometimes even 5.

I'm looking forward to seeing Mr.Versitility Gibbs do his thing. Lots of carries and receptions right there.
Also, there's a buzz about Oatis causing havoc from the NG position.
I think our great LB's/DB's will create lots of turnovers. Thus, quiet a bit of pick 6's, fumble returns coming fellas.

Terrion Arnold, I love to see it! Arnold/Kool-Aid tandem will be insane
I think the staff has done a great recruiting job in projecting were guys can play.
I myself thought Arnold would remain at safety, but its great that he has transitioned well into being another lengthy CB we need.
I am really impressed by Printice coming in taking a starting Wr spot yr one and also were Henderson now stand WR depth wise after only recently moving over.
I think the versatility we may soon have at the Wr position with (Burton,Harrell,Leary,Henderson and law) will be huge as the season gets into its middle stretch.
It will be interesting to see if a Kendrick law emerges as one of the Kickoff guys instead of brooks down the line.
But again coach always leans on experience in the return game and we know Gibbs will be the primary one fielding the kicks anyway.
A big up to the kid Smith making 2 deep as Hellams back up is very impressive after not playing much last yr.Again a great eye by our staff recruiting wise projecting him at the right position.
Last but not least is I am hoping the Kid Mooody has a great yr after waiting for other top recruited LB'er to clear out.It would be great to here commentators saying this all yr showing how the process works at Bama.

I admit Holden looks slow compared to most receivers but he's a big body guy. So if he's by means of route running found a way to consistently get open, you can't stop that. Prentice may be the down field threat that you're thinking about, but that guy who can almost guarantee you the 3rd and 7 sideline catch has incalculable value. Question is, is he that guy
