There is no way Golding makes the adjustment from the first drive to the second that Steele made.
And Bob...Milroe would be worse not better if Bob was here.

Not a disagree with your overall point but Saban said he specifically ordered the switch to split safeties for the rest of the game after the first drive.

True, but I credit Steele for the D getting back to having an attitude. Always seemed a bit too soft under Golding.
