We need to stop dropping our big bags on HS recruiting. Save it all for poaching.

Find talented under the radar guys, in-state dudes, and focus on player development/ 3 star projects when it comes to the guys out of HS. Caring about our Recruiting ranking seems pointless these days and we shouldn’t waste our money on unproven players who haven’t played a single down.

Sure, go after a Keelon or Ryan, but we don’t need to drop bag after bag on 5 star corners who will just leave without playing a meaningful down. The days of me caring about #1 classes is over, because what do they even mean these days? It means that your roster is made up of dudes being tampered with, and whose recruitment will never truly be closed until they declare for the NFL.

I have a feeling Morgan and Co. are ahead of you on this but I agree.

I would also rather be paying a couple decent D-linemen from Tulane or Marshall the price of one spoiled 5 star corner.

People laugh but I would factor in what kind of home a recruit comes from.

I definitely believe OL and probably TE are positions that can be poached with a higher success rate. You get a guy that's already been in a program, he's had a year or several to physically and mentally mature to contribute right away.

WRs IMO are going to constantly be moving around. 7 on 7 leagues and the new high school offenses are providing more than enough guys that can run routes and catch. If it's a homerun prospect sure, back the truck up. Otherwise, I say recruit solid character and keep your eyes on the portal.

Development is pointless because the Ole Miss of the world have hired a team of people to study our backups and offer them.

High School recurits don’t need to be prioritized and you should only drop a bag on QBs or 5-star talent that you have evaluated to play a big role the upcoming season like Ryan Williams. I would also target OL and TE because they are more likely to stay in a system to develop.

Any other recruit is basically a transfer target for another school so unless they come from a home with a secured parent who buys into Alabama as a program we are better off saving our money for taking the players other teams develop.

If they're not a sure fire starter it's probably not worth wasting time on. They're not going to stick around to develop.

Football is retarded now.

Exactly. Every year we should get a whole new team from the portal.

Idk honestly this whole sport is so fricking stupid now. Why should anyone care?

Did you hear DeBoer's interview about Mbakwe? He basically said, "Welp, we have to do whatever these guys want now, or else we won't have anyone to play for us."

How fricking sad and pathetic is that? The coaches have no power anymore. The coaches listen to the players now - not the other way around.
