For a few reasons. A&M can keep safeties back because we haven’t shown much ability in the intermediate passing game, and their defensive line is legit and our offensive line is still “coming along” so who knows if they can even block long enough to let deep routes develop. Either way it’s not like you can just throw deep balls in every play.
