We were in the infamous end zone where all the action happened that day.

Right behind their backs on the AJ to Coop for 99 yards and then the Coates TD and the play that shall not be named.

Not sure a greater play in Alabama history has so immediately fallen to obscurity than that one. If we hold on that play is on every highlight reel for 100 years. Now, I can't even remember the last time I saw it or heard it brought up.

Wasn't Kenyan Drake killing auburn in that game (first half)?

This close to a threepeat.....smh. H3ll, Saban could've sevenpeated at this rate.

Throwing a goddamn 45 yard rope on the run.

Yeah, Drake had like 3 carries for 33 yards in the 1st half and didn't get a carry in the 2nd half.

Kinda like D. Harris this year.

It's one of those games I've very seldom even rehashed, but we had so many specific chances to win that game it was silly. If you were doing one of those "% chance to win" we had to be over 95% at least 2-3 times in the 4th quarter alone.

- 4th qtr, 7:00 left, Alabama leads 28-21 : 2nd and 3 at the Auburn 15 yard line..........2 straight runs for 0 yards, TO on downs

- 4th qtr, 3:06 left, Alabama leads 28-21 : 3rd and 2 at the Auburn 17 yard line.........1st down run, holding call, back to 3rd and 12 (2:41 to play), incomplete pass, 44 yard missed FG

- 4th qtr, 1:00 left, Alabama leads 28-21 : 3rd and 2 at the Alabama 44 yard line.........Auburn had run 19 plays for 54 yards so far in the 4th qtr. They had to get 44 in 1 minute.

Honestly, it's pretty incredible that we were able to get back up off the mat from that as a program. Now that enough time and glory has passed for us to reflect, that was quite frankly as gut wrenchingly terrible a loss as anyone in the history of football has ever endured. And I endured 28-3 last Super Bowl.

We were much closer to a threepeat over the past three seasons. We were up 31-28 in last year's national championship game with only seconds left on the clock.

Too bad the playoffs didn't exist that year.

Hell, they had 3rd and 3 on our 32 down 3 with 28 seconds left. I can honestly say that I did not at all think they were going to score a TD on that drive until Leggett caught that insane pass inside our 10. Then I looked up and thought oh, shite, they might win right now.

Our defense was clearly gassed in that title game.

Amazing to win 5 titles in roughly 10 years with only one elite quarterback. Blake Sims will always be the goat to me and I loved Coker but AJ was the only elite one we have had under Saban.

Yep. Bama didn't lose the game on the kick-6. They lost it on those two series.

5 turnovers didn't help either.

Blake sims was like the jr smith of QBs. Could get insanely hot and accurate. But then could have games were he was way off. Was fun though

Yep. The Kick 6 was awful, but once they scored to tie it I was sure we were going to lose in overtime anyway.

Saban did too. That's why he sent a freshman out to try a 59 yard field goal.
