2012 Team was the most balanced team of the Saban Era. Well balanced, efficient offense coupled with a top ranked defense. They don’t get the credit they deserve in SEC lore. They probably would’ve beaten A&M if not for the LSU hangover.

That 2020 offense though….just no real way to defend it.

Still blame Kiffin for 2016 not finishing the job and going down as one of the greatest teams of all time. If he had been more focused down the stretch, we wouldn’t have had to ditch him before the title game.

It's difficult to quantify as teams from different eras are very difficult to compare, but as far as the Saban Era goes I think the 2012 Alabama Crimson Tide is still the standard. That team was the living embodiment of the goals he laid out in his 2007 introductory press conference where he stated that he wanted to have a relentless football team that all other teams hated to play against. That team was well-balanced on offense with a QB that passed for almost 3,000 yards and threw 30 touchdowns to just three interceptions. On top of that you had a 1,000-yard receiver and two running backs that finished with over 1,000 rushing yards while running behind the best offensive line in all of college football. That offense was scarily efficient.

And on top of all that you still had the best defense in college football lining up against teams and punishing them in a similar way the 2011 defense had done the year before. No one could move the ball consistently against them and that includes Texas A&M, who was slowed down for the most part after an explosive first quarter. Unfortunately that was the game where the offense finally decided to start turning the ball over in crucial situations. I believe two of the three interceptions McCarron threw that season were in that one game.

Despite the loss, that was a legendary team whose performance against Notre Dame in the BCS National Championship Game ranks as among the most dominant in a game of that magnitude in the history of the sport.

Imagine if that 2012 offense had Sark, Kiffin, or a quality OC instead of Nussmeir.

I'm far less qualified than most of the people on this board to answer the question. I will say that one of the 2020 team's greatest claims to fame is the fact that the LSWho fans feel the need to minimize its accomplishments by always referring to it as an asterisk team. If LSWho is triggered by it, I like it.

No LSU fans equally aggravate me with that. 2019 LSU and 2020 Alabama may have been two of the best offenses we have seen but in know way was that the best teams for each school. The defenses were average to below average at best. I like the 2011 version of both teams better.

2017 was most talented Bama team, simply a ridiculous number of future NFL starters on that team. It's the most talented team in CFB history actually. But Jalen Hurts held back that offense tremendously. He wasn't there yet.

Fun fact: 52 players on the 2017 team were either drafted or have played at least 1 game in the NFL. 51 have played in the NFL, with the only exception being Josh Frazier, who was drafted but never made a roster. 3 additional players (Moses, Allen, Jamey Mosley) were on practice squads. Insane amount of talent on that team.
