Exactly they benefit from a weak schedule every year.

Absolutely correct! The end of the East-West divisions, which is coming soon, will be Kirby's worst nightmare. UGA has played A&M twice but never has had to play at Kyle Field. Florida has been pretty average since Urbs left, UT has been average til this year for a long time, and Kentucky is usually solid but never a real threat.

Also Georgia Tech has been straight arse for about a decade. It has helped UGA tremendously that they never have to worry about Tech anymore. Tech finally fired Collins last week and beat Pitt last night, basically dominated Pitt all night.

Georgia last year looked like 2009. Georgia this year looks like 2008. Huge difference. Georgia will benefit from an easy schedule like the one we had in 2008, but these types of games are going to catch up to them at some point.

I will agree that Georgia looks like Alabama from 2008-2012, and I will admit that I LOVE a defense-first, ball-control offense style, but that system is vulnerable to the type of game Georgia just experienced against Mizzou.

Opinions from outside the fanbase seem to vary WILDLY from one end of the spectrum to the other. After oregon/SC it was "kirby has built another alabama and no one can stop them from repeating", now after 2 clunkers it's "kirby is in big trouble uga is so overrated they were a flash in the pan last year".

The reality is, as usual, the easiest and most logical conclusion which a lot of people somehow seem to overlook. First off 2021 and 2022 are massively different teams. 2021 was one of hte best defenses ever fielded that had just enough playmakers on offense to get by. 2022 lost a ton of studs on defense and has a lot of youth replacing it, in addition to our best defnsvie player and top 5 draft pick being dinged up the last few weeks (and is now out for at least anothe rmonth). Injuries on offense aren't hleping either, and we've now started turning the ball over for some reason.

UGA as of right this minute is probably somehwere between the crapfests we saw against kent st/missouri and the video game team we saw against oregon/sc. Assumign we don't have any more debilitating injuries I'll stand by my preseason predition of winning every regular season game then losing to a much better alabama in the SECCG then winning a bowl game.

I don't think a single uga fan thinks we are on the same track as alabama though. I think it's fun to read y'alls comparisons on some of kirby's teams compared to the early/mid saban year teams, but realistically no team or program will ever duplicate that again in cfb history.

I'm sorry but this is just flat out silly.

-We will lose more than we win against alabama when we play regularly, but the same can be said for literally every other CFB program
-LSU is majorly 2 faced and could be elite one year and trash the next. Based on the footing we're on as a program I would think we'd go .500 against them worst case scenario if playing regularly.
-We haven't had problems with AU since the 90s and will continue to dominate them yearly'
-We have never had problems wiht arkansas. In 2020 with dwan mathis starting (and unheralded stetson bennett coming off the bench) on the road we won by multiple touchdowns. Last yera a scorching hot and highly ranked arkansas came to athens 1 week after JT Daniels was pulled for injury and despite stetson not throwing a TD we shut them out and won by multiple scores. It's illogical to think we will all of a sudden start losing to them if we played them more often
-Texas A&M is a joke and we will obviously beat them more times than not
-Both mississsippi schools are in a good spot right now, but again it's silly to think we will have any type of regular struggles with them.

Here are the losses we have to the west the last 5 seasons:

17: @ top 3 AU (later beat them by 21 points) and to national champ alabama
18: @ top 10 LSu and to NCG participant alabama
19: to national champ LSU
20: @ national champ alabama
21: to NCG pariticpant alabama (would also beat later)

So it seems that the only losses we have to the west lately are to teams that are really friggin good, and end up in the national title game more often than not.

Great game by this UGA defense against TN. Loving the blitz packages.
