Eliud Kipsang was named the SEC Runner of the Week, while Isaac Odugbesan earned SEC Field Athlete of the Week honors

The Alabama track and field duo of Eliud Kipsang and Isaac Odugbesan earned Southeastern Conference honors following stand-out performances at last weekend's Charlie Thomas Invitational, the league office announced Tuesday.

The only runner to post an SEC-best mark this past weekend, Kipsang was named the SEC Runner of the Week. He ran an SEC-leading 3:56.70 to win the mile at the Charlie Thomas Invitational. He also took second in the 3,000m behind teammate Hillary Cheruiyot.

Odugbesan earned SEC Field Athlete of the Week after posting a conference-best mark this past weekend with a school record 20.59m in the shot put to win the Charlie Thomas Invitational. In addition to ranking him first in the SEC, Odugbesan's mark ranks fourth nationally this season.
The Crimson Tide closes the indoor regular season this weekend with a trio of meets.
