Here's the argument from the guy who originally claimed it in the media guide:
He's really reaching. I wish we didn't claim it, but we do, and I don't see us dropping the claim even though it never should've been claimed in the 1st place.

Does anyone know why Alabama was ever awarded the title by the Houlgate System? I mean did this group ever justify itself?

Who gives a crap? Seriously, the freshman who played on that team are 90 years old of they are still with us.

Yeah I'd be fine staying at 14 and dropping that one. Every time I go to an OOC opponent's message board to talk about a game it's one of the first things that gets brought up.

I wish they would drop it. I never say they have 15 national championships. I do so, however, that a champion was named prior to the futile bowl games before the polling era.
