How is it dumb. You saying that fans should apologize when we are doing what fans do. Give out opinions on things. We arent on their personal page disrespecting them. Either you are a Bama player or you are not. When you enter the transfer portal and put out a statement like "im gone no matter who the coach is" you arent a Bama player really which means you turned on your team. Did he come back yes but do we owe him an apology no.

Possible Alabama transfer Dazon Ingram told @247Sports he’s still “open as of now.” He’s heard from Nevada, Murray State, Gonzaga, WKU, UAB, Santa Barbara, NKU, Florida, Tulane & Detroit.

Be interesting to see if we are willing to wait on Ingram. I dont see a team like Florida offering him unless they miss out on some guys.

Multiple people said they wanted player such and such to leave. If that wasn't you, then I wasn't talking to you, and I'm still not.

We both might as well drop it I guess.

Whoever comes back or does not come back...great.

Oats strikes me as the type that demands buy in...and if you dont buy in you will not last and you will not be able to influence others.

Coach Curry used to call it the fellowship of the miserable...people who work behind the scenes to bring others into their group of bad attitudes.

ETA: I think a bad attitude will eliminate themselves from the read I am getting on Oats.

Roll Tide.

This. Pretty sure Petty is going to wish he left when he cant play lazy and switch defenders when his man decides to leave his area.

Or he's going to embrace his new coach and new system and get better.

This shitting on Petty is stupid. I'm very happy he's coming back.

There’s going to be some growing pains. It’s inevitable.

No doubt. He will have a talented roster to work with which should help him out some. Curious to see how his recruits will change what the current roster can do on the floor.

I understand the impatience that some fans have, though. Bama has made two seemingly (at the time) great hires and fans are invested in seeing the team make the next jump.

We can talk about Petty but I thought he got better. Obviously had a worse shooting year but he did make improvement in other parts. Oates will get him shooting more consistently, i know it.

First of all, you probably should take what you read on twitter with a grain of salt. I don't think he ever said that which is why he immediately told the guy to correct it.

Secondly, just because they're leaving doesn't mean they turned on their team. Have you ever changed jobs for what you felt was a better situation? Every one of the guys that are transferring have been tweeting and sharing stuff with each other about loving Bama and each other. You don't have to turn on people for doing what they think is best for themselves. As any veteran of the Tua/Hurts wars knows, I'm quite willing to say a player isn't good. But, I'm not going to bash them personally if I have no real info about what they're thinking.

Boy, I bet Oats wish he had a freshman Donta Hall coming in this year

It's really tragic that we missed this opportunity. 4 years of Hall n Oats stuff that will never get to happen now.

Yeah, I’m a little confused to what he’s even saying. Petty was one of our hardest workers down the stretch. He’s by no means a perfect player, but he was affecting games in other ways than his shooting, which is something I didn’t see coming from him after his first season.

Hall & Oates would definitely delivered some hits & made sweet music on the court together.

Well, let's just drop it. It doesn't matter anyway. Like I said, I don't remember who said what. I know some of it kind of irked me. I do think some people said they don't want Petty back. My comment about some people are going to owe him an apology was really about when they're loving the points he scores next year.

Gonzaga? Because I’ll be honest, that’s an impressive offer (or interest) and easily his best.
