I have one question. Where the hell were all you Petty lovers when he was in the portal? Swear i was the only one saying we could still use him and he has potential. Now im bashing the kid lol.

Judging by his improvement from his first to second year in terms of defense and rebounding, I'm not sure what you posted is true. It seemed to me like he definitely was working hard at improving his game.

To be fair, I hated on Petty during the season so the transfer portal thing doesn't apply to me He did give more effort though, so I never knocked him for that

I'll be honest - I'm wiping the slate clean on all the returning guys on any complaints I had in the past.

Every single one is starting from scratch with me.

I don't know have any sort of power or ability to do much in that area. I think cobra would be great, though.

No you were not the only one. I said I though Petty could help us and so did others, so dont pat your self on the back. (Is he out of the portal?)

Gonzaga? Because I’ll be honest, that’s an impressive offer (or interest) and easily his best

He should take Gonzaga, even over returning. Adding that huge Russian who is supposed to be really talented to what they return makes them a national champ type team.

If the offer is real, I support him chasing a championship after 4 yrs in Tuscaloosa.

I don't think it's a completely unrealistic expectation for us to make the tournament next year. Yes, there will be growing pains as you say, but we almost made it this year. And if Kira stays & we keep our current recruits we should have a better roster this time around, along with having a competent coach at the helm. Landing Watford would certainly solidify us as at least a bubble team.

Ole Miss made it as an 8 seed this year with a first year coach. And our roster is already better than theirs. Hell, even Avery swept them. And I don't see any reason why Nate Oats couldn't replicate the kind of success that Kermit Davis did.

Again, I don't think we should we planning a final four trip, but if just making the tournament is our goal then that's definitely doable. Especially if the field is comparable to what it was this year.

Good point George.
Much like Braxton Key has done at UVA our returning guys can hit the reset button & make some fun memories on the court staying right were they are.

Yup, me too. I hope they all improve. But if someone is sucking, I'm gonna say it I'll also give them credit when they deserve it.

Petty seemed to play hard this season. He just can't dribble the damn ball. Now I put a lot of that on Avery, because he put him in those situations and asked him to do things that he just couldn't do. But Avery wasn't on the court and I had to cuss someone. Petty just dribbled a ball off of his foot somewhere

Oh frick yea - I'm just saying I'm not bringing forward any of my thoughts about "playing hard" or any of that from the previous regime.

Speaking of Key, did you watch him last night? I just watched the first half, and he didnt play much, and never came close to taking a shot. Even if he was open, they would not throw the ball to him. I didnt see the 2nd half, so he could have scored 20 for all I know.

I can't hate on them for anything under Avery. It was a mess and I gave up too. How can I blame the players when I did the same thing
Avery had those guys doing things that they just couldn't do.
