Va Tech has made 11 NCAA tourneys to Auburn’s 10, but they’ve won more than 3 games in the tourney (8). Excluding this year yes Auburn is a marginally better program overall but let’s not pretend like I was comparing Va Tech to Duke or Michigan State.

Easy, no. But Tech won’t be able to bully MSU. I definitely think Izzo has the edge: better basketball players, a more experienced coach and Izzo wants it bad.

Have to assume Pettway is one. If I got my personal choice, our other assistant would be Phillip Pearson or Jonas Hayes.

Yeah, looks like he did have a chance to tell the players he was leaving. Whether it was before or after he first came to Alabama is anyone's guess.

If Bucky is that 3rd assistant I will be elated. He is a future HC in the college game.

Being that it will take an announcement, I would not be surprised if it is Bucky. Pettway will be the holdover. If it is those 2, along with Hodgson, you may have the youngest P5 staff in the nation. I believe all 3 assistants will bring something to the table.
