Bruce is only making $2.6 mil this year (SMDH we were paying Avery more!). That's not cheap, but it's not a king's ransom either. I'm sure after the tourney they will want to bump him up some but there's quite a few teams that could get in the game at that level and make Auburn pay to keep him.

Rumor is AU is already planning on paying him regardless of competition

Wont happen but I would throw $7M at him like yall do Gus. But Basketball revenue isnt nowhere near as much as FBall so yall probably wont go that high.

We would pay him $7mil no question if someone came knocking at near that number

We aren't just going to offer for no reason

All due respect, Gene, but I call bullshite. Auburn wouldn't go to $7 million for John Wooden, and neither would Bama. I'm not saying you wouldn't fight to keep him, and I think you'd go somewhere north of $4 million, but if Arizona or Kansas comes knocking with a blank check, you're SOL, mister. Kansas, especially would go where neither of our schools would go for a basketball coach. Football wouldn't be happy about it and Auburn, like us, has way too many FOG's in high places that would raise holy hell if that kind of money was thrown at shooty-hoops.

Remember, at the end of the day, there's still too many of "But muh footbawl!"

We have the kind of money to be able to be great in every sport we want to be great in. frick the FOGs, they don’t really care about UA if they don’t care about the other sports we offer.

Auburn gave Bruce a shot after a few years away from it so I think any talk of him moving on is wasted talk. I get the feeling he's in love & dedicated to the barn.

Naw, man. Don’t you know the going rate is $5 mil and a private VIP booth at the local Waffle House?

Just saw where Lipscomb beat Wichita in the NiT quarterfinals to send Marshall’s arse home. Makes me happy

As long as AU is competitive with salary, and with what he has already built at AU, you would think he would show extreme loyalty to AU when AU gave him a shot when he was down, and nobody would touch him.

I love the posts here saying Alabama could have had Bruce. No way Alabama would have touched Bruce at the time. Congrats to AU for giving him another chance.

Heard Lipscomb coach might go to Belmont (alum), he's one to keep an eye on.

We won't have to, no one is going to offer that. You better believe that AU won't let him go if $7mil keeps him

Casey Alexander is a great coach... He would be a great fit at Vandy or Belmont. Runs a great offensive system

Scuttlebutt is that Arkansas will settle for Musselman and Vandy will get Stackhouse. Alexander is rumored to be heading home to Belmont to replace his mentor.
