Oregon got a commitment earlier today from the #27 overall player in the 247 Composite. I knew they just got the commitment from Johnathan Lawson a few days ago so I decided to take a quick look at their class and realized they also have a commitment from 5* #17 overall Nathan Bittle which gives them the #7 class in the country right now.
Decided to check and see how they've recruited in recent seasons and I was a bit surprised to see just how strong their recruiting has been. Last cycle (2020) was really low, because they only signed one kid in the class - a four star.
2019 they had the #4 overall class that included two 5* and three 4*.
2018 they had the #3 overall class that included two 5* and three 4*.
2017 they had the #13 overall class that included one 5* and two 4*.
So in the last four cycles they have signed two top five classes, a top 15 class and class that only had one signee that was a four star. Now they are following that up with what is currently the #7 class in the country.
2017-2020 classes brought them this talent:
5* - 5
4* - 9
Top 100 - 13
Dana Altman and staff have been doing some serious work on the recruiting trail. I would love for Oats and staff to be able to pull off something similiar.
