A class of JD, Houstan, Bediako, Holt, Wilson, and Cardet would be Bama’s GOAT class.

I don’t wanna exaggerate but it gives me 08 Football class vibes

The No. 23 ranked player in the 247Sports Composite for the class of 2021, big man  Charles Bediako will cut his list to five on Saturday. Ranked No. 45 in the Composite, four-star forward  Alex Fudge will make his college decision on the same day. As things stand, a pair of SEC programs look to be in pretty good shape.

From Canada, Bediako is playing his last year of high school ball at Bradenton (Fla.) IMG. The 6-foot-11 center has a great frame to build on, good hands and some offensive skill that should allow him to develop into a high level post scorer when he gets to college. Of the schools remaining in his top 10, Duke and Michigan are two that have gotten some buzz for him. However, nobody is getting more buzz than Nate Oats and Alabama. The Tide get my Crystal Ball pick here and it is one that I feel pretty confident in making.

The Tide already have five-star point guard JD Davison and four-star wing Jusaun Holt, get Bediako and a monster class would be brewing in Tuscaloosa.

As for Fudge, he'll choose from a long list of finalists. A 6-foot-8 combo forward with athleticism and versatility, Fudge is going to fill out on the college level and become problematic to defend due to his burst and improving jump shot. By the end of the day on Saturday, it looks like Will Wade and LSU will emerge victorious.

Already with commitments from four-star big man Jerrell Colbert and three-stars Bradley Ezewiro and Brandon Murray, the 247Sports Class Calculator projects that adding Fudge would move them into the top 10 nationally.

There are some that think Langston Wilson will be bumped up to a 4* when all is said and done.

Jerry Meyer article last night LINK

If you had to put 2 Crystal Ball in for Alabama. Who would they be?

Alabama is coming off an enormous recruiting win in landing JD Davison, the No. 1 point guard in the 247Sports Composite Ranking. Nate Oats and company also have a commitment from four-star wing Jusaun Holt.
The two recruits that I actually Crystal Balled today to join this recruiting class are Charles Bediako and Langston Wilson. Bediako is a five-star center out of Canada who is attending IMG Academy. Wilson is a highly ranked ranked forward out of the junior college ranks.
If Alabama were to land both Bediako and Wilson, the Crimson Tide would have the No. 2 class in the 247Sports Team Rankings for 2021 as it currently stands.

JD went from not saying a word for two years, to being the most vocal Bama fan and recruiter in the nation. He's quickly won me over.

Travis Branham from 247 is on 97.7 with Drew DeArmond. Will somebody link the interview whenever it gets posted?

This would give us commitments from a 6'3" PG, a 6'7" wing, a 6'9" combo forward, and a 6'11" center. Oats wants to build a roster with NBA size.

Bama hoops nuggets and a Crystal Ball pick... (TWatts)

— JUCO forward Langston Wilson out Georgia Highlands College is closing in on a decision that’s expected sooner rather than later. Sources close to the Pennsylvania native feel the Tide has pulled ahead for his signature and has the momentum in this recruitment — one that involves programs like Maryland, Ole Miss, Kansas, Oregon, and others — as decision times draws closer.

Tide assistant Bryan Hodgson has done the ground work in this recruitment and is a huge reason why the Tide is trending and could ultimately land him. We saw what an asset Hodgson was for UA in the 2020 cycle when he locked in on a target.

Nate Oats and staff have made Wilson a priority since offering the 6-foot-9 forward at the end of July. Wilson is a really good defender that runs the floor well, which is what UA covets so much in him as a prospect. With that in mind I’m adding a CB pick at 8 confidence for Wilson to Bama.

Some additional nuggets …

— Alabama is riding a ton of momentum right now with JD Davison helping the Tide with national perception after committing to the program last weekend. The five-star point guard’s pledge could certainly impact decisions going forward in a good way for Bama.

— Bama is expected to be in the top four for five-star power forward Caleb Houstan when he announces his cut down list on Wednesday. We recently reported Houstan as a name to keep an eye on. His recruitment is certainly one that’s been a bit more wide open, but with the top schools list coming out tomorrow, the focus will narrow for Houstan who UA has done a good job with thus far against some of college basketball’s blue-bloods.

— Continuing the good news, Bama should also be in the top five for five-star center Charles Bediako when he cuts his list this upcoming Saturday. UA has a long established relationship with Bediako dating back to his time at Andrews Osborne Academy, where he was a teammate of Tide freshman Keon Ambrose-Hylton, to now at IMG Academy. While there’s still work to do here going forward, the Tide has planted itself in good shape.
