Looks like he has used 3 years of eligibility so he has to be a grad transfer right? I wonder if this is a backup plan on Petty. Maybe Galin just left on his own knowing he wouldn't play much with Bruner on the roster now.

From what i'm seeing on Twitter, it looks like he's just a traditional transfer and wants to redshirt if he doesn't get a waiver according to one post I saw.
He led the team in scoring three consecutive years, so maybe he just wants a jump in competition?

Two days after entering the transfer portal, former USC guard Elijah Weaver has received plenty of interest from potential suitors.
According to a source close to Weaver, the sophomore guard has heard from Alabama, Arkansas, Dayton, DePaul, Marquette, UCF, USF and UTSA since entering the transfer portal on April 28.
Weaver averaged 6.6 points, 2.4 points and 1.8 assists in 22.1 minutes per game this season at USC, starting 14 contests for the Trojans.
As a 2018 recruit out of Southwest Brevard County (Fla.) Rockledge, Weaver was the 45th rated prospect in the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
The former four-star prospect had also seriously considered Ohio State, Florida and Oklahoma State, all of which he took official visits to.

Michigan is the latest to offer 6-foot-11 Canadian 2021 big man @CBediako of @UPLAYCanada
He’s also picked up offers recently from Texas, Tennessee and ASU to go along with Duke, Louisville and Michigan State.
Bediako is going to end up being one the most heavily recruited players in 2021. Oats and company must've realized that and that's why they were pushing so hard for him to reclassify. Will be interesting to see where he ends up.

If you’re asking yourself why the bluebloods haven’t entered the picture for Jabari Smith, you’re not alone. Duke, Kentucky and North Carolina have continued to monitor the top-five forward, but not to the extent that Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, LSU and Tennessee have.
Smith has taken an official visit to Tennessee and was expected to a see several others this spring until the pandemic canceled all travel opportunities. A commitment is not expected anytime soon and Smith seems to be one of the few elite juniors who isn't seriously considering a reclassification. His father starred at LSU in the 1990s, and the Tigers are definitely a top suitor. That shouldn’t slight the chances that Bruce Pearl has with someone that calls Atlanta home (the Tigers have had great success there lately). For now, the recruitment of Smith remains in the beginning stages as Auburn, LSU and Tennessee sit as the three to beat.

Alex Tchikou holds nearly 35 scholarship offers and that number continues to grow for the Dream City Christan [AZ] forward. He stands at 6-foot-11 and weighs just over 200 pounds, making him one of the more intriguing prospects in the class of 2021.
As far as his recruitment goes, he talks to programs from all conferences. Among his offers: Oregon (officially visited), Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, NC State, Baylor, Florida, Georgetown, Illinois, Florida State, amongst many others.
“They all are recruiting me very hard. I feel very blessed that so many schools are recruiting me. It’s going to be a hard choice because they all offer different things that I like.”
Recently, Tchikou says that programs continue to get involved in his recruitment.
“My newest offers are St. John’s, Florida, and San Diego St. They are all recruiting me hard. I talked to St. John’s head coach [Mike] Anderson this week and had a good talk. I talk to Coach Pinkins at Florida a lot. And, I talk to Coach Acker from San Diego St a lot too. They are the new ones.”
With the current pandemic going on, it has stopped Tchikou from taking any visits he had planned besides his lone official visit to Oregon in which was dated for the weekend of February 27th. Now, he has taken the virtual route and has spoken with many coaches via zoom and/or facetime.
“I did virtual visits with Alabama, Arkansas, Virginia Tech, and Oklahoma St. I have a virtual visit with Florida State tomorrow and Ole Miss on Monday,” Tchikou told Stockrisers.com.
Many see Tchikou as a prospect who could make a potential jump to 2020 due to his frame and skillset, but, he wants to reaffirm that he’s comfortable where he’s at and will remain in the 2021 class. “I am not going to reclass as of today. I will remain in the 2021 class.”

Something tells me that the reason the blue bloods aren't after Smith is that he's giving off some strong going overseas or to the G-League vibes and they aren't in a position to have to roll the dice on those kind of guys like most of the programs that are after him are.

Yeah, that's where Rick Stansbury landed. So Rick is up to his old recruiting tricks that he started in StarkVegas. I guess he figures as long as LSU is getting a free pass, he will too.

People are out there paying players now, everyone knows they’re paying them, and the NCAA knows they’re paying them. No punishments whatsoever. Honestly, I’d be upset if Nate oats wasn’t trying to pay some of them.

Another major player entered the transfer portal this past week as Miami of Ohio’s Nike Sibande entered his name. The wing is one of the top-rated transfers available after averaging 14 points per game along with 5.9 rebounds per contest. In addition, he found himself second on the team in steals with 26.
Instantly, Sibande drew the attention of some big name programs. “Alabama, Creighton, Kentucky, Pittsburgh, all reached out within the first 24 hours,” Sibande told Stockrisers.com. In addition, Fresno State reached out shortly after Sibande said that.
Later on, Arkansas would get in the mix and an assistant reached out to him. One day removed from the Razorbacks reaching out, they were already in the process of planning a virtual call with the staff. Then, yesterday, head coach Eric Musselman reached out to Sibande and spoke with the guard. The interest is mutual.
Then today, Alabama’s Nate Oats, Xavier’s Travis Steele and an assistant from Minnesota all contacted Sibande.
It’s evident that he’s quickly become one of the more highly touted transfers on the market and I fully expect the interest for him to grow as the days go by. Many programs are in need of a major impact wing of his caliber and many schools love the fact that Sibande can play both sides of the ball.
