I wonder if it was an academics issue. He did go to several schools over the course of just a few years, and the place he went to in Kansas is just a straight up diploma mill for basketball players.

Do academics play any role at all in a recruiting service rating/ranking? I doubt it does, but i've never actually looked into it.
At one point he was rated the #40 overall player in the class and now he is down to #192.

Combo guard with good, but not overwhelming, athleticism and solid size. A natural scorer with range who can create his shot off the dribble. Better at creating for himself than distributing. Quite good with either hand. Rebounds his position well. Has potential and mindset to be a solid defender. Should develop into an NBA draft selection.
This was his eval back in May 2019. I think 247 just did a poor job of scouting him at the beginning.

Once was committed to UGA.

I think he just had a bad year. His offer list was quite impressive at one point for him to be going to GCU.

They wouldn't be the only ones then. His offer list is about right for the 40th best player in the country, but most of those offers were no longer on the table obviously. That's why I wonder whether academics played a role in a guy who had his pick of power conference programs this time last year ending up at a place like Grand Canyon. I guess he maybe just didn't develop the way people expected him to, but it's pretty rare for a basketball player to fall off like that between his junior and senior years of high school.

He is from Fairburn Georgia, three hours from Tuscaloosa. Just sayin.
We are the closest school to him that he is considering aside from Georgia, they are 1.5 hours from him.

Jayden Stone has to transfer schools because he was too old to play high school in Alabama so he transferred to a school in Kansas. I know his formerAAU coach and he said Stone quit after two days because it was too much running sprints

If we get Bruner ya'll aren't prepared for the level of gumping I'm gonna do this off-season.

Yea. It would only take CNO half a day to run him off. Literally

I still can't find any news at all on where Raymond Hawkins is looking to transfer.
Harper, you heard anything on that?

This site is pretty good in regards to transfer updates, and it doesn't have Hawkins' destination listed yet.

Bruner is supposed to decide this week. It’s Thursday. We are running out of week.
So setting Bruner aside for a moment since we’re going to land him anyway (honestly I’m real worried fighting Baylor and their recent success) who else is still high on our wish list and that we are realistically pursuing?

Transferring Ohio State sophomore guard Luther Muhammad has named his top eight schools.
The 6-foot-3 Newark native and former Hudson Catholic (N.J.) standout is down to Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, Seton Hall, Arizona State, UCLA, West Virginia and New Mexico, he told 247Sports.com.
Muhammad averaged 7.0 points and 2.3 rebounds in 30 games last season.
He will sit the 2020-21 season per NCAA rules and then have two years of eligibility.
