Reese was a lot better than Galin. I think theres some bitterness towards Reese in here from the ones who thought Galin was gonna be better than Reese this season.

I don’t see the mismatch on the offensive end . A big doesn’t have to guard him. He is a spot up shooter . He is not effective off the dribble at all ... defensively , don’t get me started . My main gripe is there is NO effort on D from him . Teams recognize it and go right after him. His minutes should be minimal

I can remember 3 or 4 nice dunks he had this year after driving to the basket. One was against Wiley. They had to take Wiley out of the game-because he was too slow to guard Reese.

A lot of the time he doesn’t even bother to put his hand up

Yeah, honestly, he was probably our best in-game dunker. Kind of sad, but true. And, apparently, he was playing with a bad hip. Like I said, he has his faults, but I think a lot of people just want a scapegoat. Herb Jones was just as much a liability as Reese most games, but it was just on the other end.

He is one of them for sure.
I respect him for toughing it out and playing on a hip that Oats said he is gonna have to have a procedure on in the offseason. I think he can have a good year next season. He does have things to work on, like most every other player we have. None of our players were good on defense this year outside of Herb and Petty.

Y’all wait until you see Juwan Gary. Good Lord

Ellis is a good dunker too. We should be a more athletic team next year.

I think a lot of people have kind of forgotten about him.

I agree. There’s no excuse to go out there and not give effort. Effort isn’t a talent thing, it’s a pride thing. Wish he played as hard as he parties

Rojas too. Even if we Don't get Bruner and Rojas has to play the 5 he is gonna be a big improvement offensively and defensively over anyone we had playing there last year.

Herb missed more layups than he made dunks.

Go back and check my post history. I was Reese biggest defender here his 1st 2 years and all last offseason but dude is LAZY. If he gave half the effort Galin did he would be all-conference

Hell, I predicted that Reese would have a big year and lead the team in 3’s made. I’m not a hater, I just don’t like how he half asses it. It drives me crazy

Even if a big don't guard him, it will create a match up problem with the player they choose to guard. The big will end up guarding a more athletic player if Reese is in at the 5.

We should have enough depth next year that is os gonna be on the bench if he doesnt give 100% effort.
Also we dont know how much of it was laziness and how much was him in pain from playing on a hip that needs surgery.
Seems like Oats thinks he is worth keeping even after the arrest ect, so he must think he is gonna be able to turn the corner. Hopefully it scared him enough to get him focused.

Hip pain isn’t an excuse to give zero effort on defense

I understand your frustrations with Reese but you're really being hard on him with that comment. We don't know what his pain level was but we do know that he played better before the injury.

Nope, even Oats said he needed to get back in the gym and work more. If his hip was that big of an issue, Oats wouldn’t have said that.
