Found a high school video of Hayden Koval, I think he moves very well to be 7'0. He can pass, dribble, and shoot. We could use someone like him who averaged 3 blocks a game while shooting 34% from three imo.
I am hoping we offer him if we miss on Bruner. I hear Arkansas may be interested in him too if they miss on Bruner.
high school highlights
Highlights of him in Juco getting 10 blocks in one game.

Do you think he’s our starting 5 for next year if we don’t add another big?
I’d assume it’s between him and Davis as of now, who I’m actually still pretty high on. I know he gets lumped in with our struggling bigs, but considering this play style is wildly different from what suits to his strengths, I think he did a pretty solid job of adapting for his first year of collegiate play. His footwork in the post is almost impeccable. His finishing at times was very strong though wildly inconsistent to the point you have to think it was jitters and him getting used to collegiate play. He’s not a good shot-blocker, but he moves his feet very well on defense and he’s actually amazing at hedging screens which is a bit surprising given his size. The word is he’s also working hard on developing a jump shot. His per 30 minute numbers aren’t bad for a freshman either, despite the inconsistency: 11.2 PPG, 7.1 RPG, 1.1 SPG (a product of his screen hedging ability). I still believe he’ll be a very solid big for us.

I like Davis’s potential, but what gets in his way is his attitude. If he can get over his attitude problem then he has a bright future here. The starter at the 5 is wide open if Bruner isn’t added. If I had to wildly guess with everyone who is on the roster, I would give Rojas the nod just because he’s more athletic and better defensively than Reese, Davis, and Galin.

He is a lot tougher than Reese or Davis too.
Oat's said in reference to Rojas
quote:
"He's one of the toughest players I've ever seen."

Reese needs to get with the program or get gone.

Wasn’t aware this was an issue. I’m assuming it’s a coachability issue? Surely it’s not a work ethic thing...

Unfortunately for the most part it is. It is why you saw him play inconsistent minutes most of the year. Inconsistent attitude

Yeah, Herb will be back.

Ellis posted on Instagram that a decision is coming soon.

So with all these guards we are in on, is it now assumed Petty is gone? Was hoping he’d be back.

Oats said he is recruiting as if Petty ad Kira are gone and will be presently surprised if either come back.
Still a chance Petty comes back, but imo he is likely gonna leave.

my guess at our roster next year
Jahvon Quinerly G
Jaden Shackelford G
Josh Primo G
Keon Ellis G
Saquan Singleton G
Herb Jones G/F
Juwan Gary F
Keon Ambrose F
James Rojas F
Alex Reese F
Javian Davis F
Bruner or another F who is 6'7 or over with ball skills
Petty or another Guard (could also be a skilled g/f like Darius Miles)

I like Bruner. I didn’t know he shoots the ball as well as he does. He would be perfect for our offense
