I agree.

I would love for us to find a way to take both. Both are great shooters

I bet Primo does end up reclassifying he will be 18 in December, don’t really see any reason for him not to.

Seems the staff wants to develop him into a G which would give us good match-up advantages with him being 6'8 200+. He does seem to be a good enough ball handler and shooter to be able to pull it off.
I think them using him as an guard is equal to how Herb plays. I dont think he will be a pure guard. Would and could create matchup ptoblems.

Why would Oats be recruiting these guys so hard if he wasn’t gonna push guys out?
Using your theory he wouldn’t even be recruiting 2020 guys anymore because we are only losing Beetle and signed Ambrose.
Face it, Galin plays hard but he isn’t a fit and Oats will more than likely ask him to leave. Hawkins is still probably 2 more years away IMO from playing effective BBall in the SEC

Do Canadian kids start school later or were all these dudes the sons of immigrants or what? Because it seems like pretty much every one of these Canadian kids is a year ahead of their American counterparts. Primo and Bediako are reclassification candidates and Mane is already old enough to declare if he wants to.

So I’m guessing for next year...
Losing:
Beetle
Kira
Galin
Hawkins
I’m not convinced that Hawkins won’t be here.

I don’t have a lot of confidence in being able to land Bediako, but I really hope we can.
A class of Ambrose, Primo, and Bediako would be unbelievable.
Oats and Bohannon could start a pipeline to Canada for both programs.

I do like Hawkins and he has potential from his film. It would be huge if he got in good enough shape to play

Galin will have one year to play. He isnt going anywhere imo. Unless the guy we got from Juco is really good. Rojas.

It really depends on why he isn't getting minutes. If it's purely conditioning then I'd expect him back. If it's a skill issue then he may be told to explore options where he will actually get to play some. Considering Oats wanted him at Buffalo too I'm guessing it's more conditioning than skill, but the kind of kids they recruit at mid-major programs do often take a couple of years to develop and acclimate to the college game.

Honestly just font see Oats pushing any of these guys out due to the fact that they seem so close to each other.

Assuming Primo reclassifies he and Ambrose will be in the 2020 class.
Bediako is 2021.

I don't think Hawkins is going anywhere. Oats signed him himself and said he was a great fit for his system.
quote:
“Ray gives us a big man that’s skilled in multiple areas and fits our system very well,” Oats said. "He will give us some interior depth and has a huge upside. Ray is a big, strong, physical presence who can handle the ball and play inside-outside. We’ve targeted him since I was at Buffalo, because we felt like he was a great fit.”
I could see Galin grad transferring somewhere but if he can consistently play like he did Saturday going forward, I hope he stays. He seems to be working hard, guess we'll have to see how it plays out.

I think it's a foregone conclusion at this point that Kira is gone, in that spot I think we sign Ellis or Primo. We signed Ambrose in Beetle's spot.

This is why i say we dont just throw guys like Galin away. He isnt great but he is physical enough to play in the SEC. These high school kids you never really know what you are getting. I remember people on here saying the kid would start this year.

Galin would almost certainly be replaced with a grad transfer though. It appears that Bediako isnt going to reclassify to 2020 and I haven't seen us connected to any JuCo bigs, so the only option would be a grad transfer. Galin plays with consistent effort but I wouldn't describe him as a banger by any stretch of the imagination, and his general inability to score from outside of point blank range makes him a poor fit for a system designed to stretch the defense. A big reason we get so few uncontested or lightly contested layups is because Reese is the only big we have who can really pull a defender away from the paint.

Bediako is also a potential reclassification prospect unless he changed his tune recently.

Yeah he is staying in the 2021 class.

Rivals insider Corey Evans spoke to Bediako at the Cancer Research Classic in West Virginia and reported that the No. 39 prospect on the 247Sports 2021 Composite completely shut the door on early graduation.
