True, but that can be said about Hall too, he was listed between 6'8 and 6'9 coming out of HS depending where you look.

Would be nice if Ambrose could put on 20 or so more pounds and still be that athletic 5 that can get out in transition that Oats wants.

Even at 200 pounds or whatever he is now he looks to be a really good rebounder. He got 20 rebounds in a game a few weeks ago while playing against Makur Maker who is 6’11 and the 2nd ranked center in the class. (12th ranked player overall on 247)

2022 Dior Johnson committed to Syracuse today. He's a Hodgson guy.

ETA: #1 PG in the class, #5 overall.

Not a huge surprise that he went to Syracuse he is from New York. Kind of surprised he committed so early he is a 2022 recruit.

Wow, had no idea Gerry Mcnamara was on the Cuse staff.

If there is anyone in here that doesn't know who that is - look him up. Dude was awesome. He had an epic run in the Big East tourney one year. Probably been 15 years by now.

Looks like he lives in NY now, but is from Cali.

I’m actually from Kingston, N.Y., originally and that’s about three hours from Syracuse. My visit was crazy! The dome was crazy and the fans were the best!

I’m just really comfortable with the coaches and it just felt right. It’s not something that happened overnight; like I said I’ve known the staff for years.

Gerry Mcnamara

Really good player. I'm pretty sure he was on that Cuse team that we beat when we went to the elite 8.

Good find. 247 profile says hometown is Lakewood, CA. Guess he played there at some point too.

Found this part interesting:

He was a major contributor as a true freshman the following year when they won the national championship. He averaged 13 points, 4.6 assists and 2.2 steals a game while shooting 35 percent from 3-point range and 91 percent from the foul line

Yeah he did play in the game vs us, looks like he was their leading scorer that game with 24 points.

Damn, you're right, had my years mixed up-was thinking 2002 for some reason. Guess bc of the #1 ranking. Either way Gerry was nasty. Was a big fan of his back in the day.

That was a stacked starting five but there wasn’t much on the bench. Brock was bad. But could you imagine Shelton in Oats offense?

If I remember that sweet 16 game correct, we shot it so well from 3 that we temporarily forced them out of that 2-3 zone. They tried man defense to slow us down

Love the hustle from Forbes. Think i'm rooting harder for him individually than anyone else on the team.
