Reports that we have offered 2020 JUCO Guard Keon Ellis of Florida Southwestern.
Can't really find much about him online other than from their website. Florida Southwestern is evidently the #1 ranked team in NJCAA.
He is listed as a 6'6 guard. Shoots 43% from 3pt, 80% from FT, and averages 18.7ppg.
This is his 2nd year, so he would have 2 to play.

It's gonna be hard to beat Pettway for him imo.

Looks like a good player, nice height, good hops, good defense, and a pretty shot.
He shot over 40% from three. We could for sure a good guard in this 2020 class.
He seems really excited about the offer on twitter.
Seems to be good on defense too

Keon Ellis with a steal and score, he becomes the first player in FSW history with 100 career steals!

He got conference player of the week two weeks ago.
quote:
Ellis led FSW to two more wins this week, pushing their season long winning streak to 16 games. He filled up just about every column of the stat sheet in the wins, averaging 22.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 blocks, 3.0 steals, and 2.5 assists per game in wins over St. Petersburg and Hillsborough. He shot 59% from the field in the two contests and connected on 5 of 8 from three point land, good for a 63% mark. Wednesday he had a pedestrian, by his standards, 15 points and 8 rebounds against the Titans, but Saturday he went off once again, scoring 29 points and pulling down 8 boards against the Hawks.
Ellis has been electric for the Bucs of late, boosting up his scoring average to 18.6 points per game while shooting 56% from the field on the year. Through six conference games this season, Ellis is averaging 25.7 points per game and is shooting 59% from the field and over 50% from the three point line.

He scored 36 in that game according to the box score, hit eight threes.
He is listed at number 9 in the Juco Top 100, he is the top uncommitted Juco player. All the ones above him are committed to big schools.
Jay Scrubb is listed as number 2.

Speaking of the Juco Top 100 James Rojas was ranked number 5 in last years. A lot of the players ranked around where he was are having really good years. I think a lot of people are gonna be surprised by how good he is. We really miss him this year.
Really good rebounder and shot almost 40% from three. Tough player too, good defensively.
Oats called Rojas “One of the toughest players I’ve ever seen.”

Viewed Rojas as a Chris Hines type of player that had that ability to hit fron deep. This year's squad could have really used someone like him, because there is a definite lack of mental toughness.

I wish we could find another Bola. Just someone to do the dirty stuff.

Good size and toughness comparison but Rojas is a much better scorer. A lot of his games in Juco last year Rojas would score between 20 and 30 points.
Rojas has a good post up game as well as being a good three point shooter.

They’re are a couple of Rojas full games on YouTube that I have watched and he is very skilled offensively. Imo, his comparison is a little more athletic and skilled Reese....that is tough and rebounds. Probably not quite the shooter Reese is but he is very respectable

I wonder how big Ambrose's frame will allow him to get. Right now he is listed as 6'9 200 by most sites. Coming out of HS Donta Hall was around the same.
Donta Hall is listed right now as 6'9 230 in the G league, would be nice if Ambrose could get that big.
He looks pretty skinny, should be able to put on at least another 20 pounds.

I hope he is really 6'9" or at least 6'8". He looks very smooth in his movement.

Same. 247 has him listed as 6'8 but fiba u19 team he plays for lists him at 6'9.

Back when I was in HS almost everyone was listed an inch or two taller than they actually were. Even if that were the case, he would be 6'7"-6'8" as a 17(?) year old. Still has time for some growth potential.

Looks stronger than Hall did coming in
