There really hasn't been a ton of noise around his recruitment.
I did just listen to an interview from him at the USA camp and he seems fairly open still but talked about Arkansas and Ohio St the most. He said he planed to make a few visits in August but Ohio St was the only one that was guaranteed so far. Oregon joining the picture also worries me for obvious reasons. I guess Florida hasn't shown as much interest lately so maybe they are out of the picture now and old news.

I feel your pain, still waiting here as well. I don't think ours is coming out anytime soon either because we have had rumors about trying to add Tulsa this week.

Alaskan-born Daishen Nix is the best HS PG in America. He’s also got a puzzling recruitment, led by his high school coach—a former Jerry Tarkanian assistant—who also happens to be his guardian in Vegas. How they shunned Nike on the way to five-star status.
Very interesting article for anyone that is curious about his recruitment. Goes into detail about his relationship with his high school coach, who also happens to be his guardian and the man that is guiding every move Nix makes on and off the court.

Nix’s coach/guardian told me Kansas and Kentucky are two of the five official visits they plan to take in the coming weeks. One coach recruiting Nix told me that his passing ability resembles Jason Kidd’s ability at a similar age.

5. Alabama: Nate Oats is off to a sensational start in Tuscaloosa, having sold transfer portal testers Kira Lewis Jr. and John Petty on his up-tempo offense and welcomed in former five-star prize Jahvon Quinerly, who is applying for an immediate eligibility waiver after a turbulent year at Villanova.

What's the ceiling for Nate Oats's Alabama debut?
The Avery Johnson-era Crimson Tide could beat or get beat by anybody on any given night, and that roller coaster grew tiresome in Tuscaloosa. Enter Oats, who picked up where Bobby Hurley left off at Buffalo and fielded a high-flying team that could have ventured much deeper in the tournament if it had not drawn the eventual runner-up in the round of 32. Setting aside the great unknown that is Quinerly’s ceiling (should he be eligible), Lewis and Petty are two electrifying scorers, and the players set to fill in around them can approximate the Bulls’ amorphous offense until Oats establishes proof of concept and starts recruiting to his system. In the meantime, there’s plenty of reason to be exciting about this winter in Tuscaloosa.

So much for that P5 game I guess

Meh, but it's in Bham, so I'm going.

I’d take this any day over getting blown out by a P5 in BHam every single year

Damn, that’s a little disappointing. But the rest of the schedule is still very very strong.
Only bad part is I live 35 mins from BJCC and live 1hr30mibs away from Coleman. I usually go to the BHam game

My best guess is Samford was plan B. I’m sure they approached some bigger names but couldn’t work anything out so we settled for the Bulldogs.

Months ago another name was thrown around to me before we knew about Samford, and all I can say is it was still a small game. I guess that’s just how they wanted the BHam to be. Looking at how we got beat the last 3 times we played there against a big opponent, I guess they just wanted to draw our fans back in with an easy win so that they won’t stop showing up

Will this be a home, away or neutral site game?
Posted on 7/30/19 at 7:58 pm to Gongora
Birmingham counts as a home game due to proximity to Tuscaloosa. Huntsville is a neutral site game.
Pretty disappointed with Samford being the Birmingham game but they didn’t ask for my opinion.
