Exactly. Coach could draw up plays for days but if they don’t have the confidence or rhythm chances are it ain’t going in.

What are your thoughts on a coach being able to teach confidence? From my experience that has to come from within.

I only played High School ball but for me Confidence was gained by repitition and encouragement in practice. It also would help my confidence if we had a coach who can look at my shot and adjust it and I knew he knew what he was talking about.

An example is Tevin Mack,He was basically falling/leaning backwards on almost everyone of his 3s he missed and Avery didnt adjust it once. When he had his games where he was hot he was more upright on his shot.

Because he’s doing exactly what Avery did (and what he did when we got Rojas) tweeting emojis to tell us we landed a commitment. And he used that jelly emoji specifically for Quinerly

I'll throw my hat in at the lineup projections. And I'm going on the assumption that Oats will predominantly play small ball.

1. Kira Lewis
2. Beetle Bolden
3. John Petty
4. Alex Reese
5. James Rojas

6th man
- Herb Jones (3/4)

Regular rotation
- Jaden Shackleford (2/1)
- Raymond Hawkins (5)
- Jaylen Forbes (2/3)

Plays some
- Juwan Gary (4/3)

Situational or no minutes
- Javian Davis-Fleming (5)
- Galin Smith (5)

I would ideally like to have Bolden coming off the bench for instant offense, but I just don't think he came here not to start.

I wonder if the Head Coach has a social media manager send out those tweets.

Doing a Jellyfam emoji signifying what most logical folks would interpret to be a commitment and then the kid committing to a different school isn’t a great look.

He's got nothing on John Petty. This is what I think of when I see JP.

Anyone know where I can find a list of all the McDonald’s All-Americans to play at Bama?

I, personally, think Mack is fricking up. He was going to have a big role on this team, and it would be fun as hell to play in Oats' system. But, it's his life to live. Good luck to him, I guess.

I kind of wonder if our ceiling as a defensive team this year is just being mediocre. The real variables are Hawkins and Rojas (and the coaching staff).

For what it's worth, I think we could be a pretty good team if we're mediocre defensively.

Give me Fleming every single day & twice on Sunday

quote from Saban n Bear.

You have never even seen Fleming play.

Oats seems to like Smith so for the time being I think I will go with the coach rather than some wanna be insider expert.

Posted in the AU thread about the 3PT line moving back and how I think it will tremendously benefit teams like AU and Bama.

Hiring Nate Oats couldn't have come at a better time. As the 3FG line gets moved back, coaches who empower their players with trust/freedom will shine in my opinion.

While CBB believes this will lower 3FG%, which it will, it will also have the effect of spacing the floor. Teams like Bama or Auburn who play small ball lineups will absolutely punish traditionally built teams with big men who can't switch/defend 5 positions

Mack will go to somewhere else and average about 4.20 points and 4.20 rebounds per game.
