Man, taking the under on the points for this game was easy money.

If we get Watford I’m gonna need someone to make a version of this gif

Preferred order

1. Bama fires Avery
2. Bama hires Oates
3. Juwan Gary reaffirms commitment
4. John Petty Staying
5. Kira Lewis Staying
6. Trending Watford Commits
7. Dazon leaves

I’ve never seen Fleming play, but I hope he stays and Galin leaves.

You ask how can I possibly know he’s better than Galin without seeing him play yet? Well...he can’t possibly be worse than Galin, so that’s a risk I’m willing to take.

OT but here’s my take: I’ve ignored spring football more than I probably ever have. The football team is in good hands. We’ll be among the best again. IMHO the weakness at ILB will end up costing us a chance at the title. We’re ok everywhere else except maybe TE but that’s not a deal breaker and kicking is always a scary position for Saban but it’s not like we’re going to go 8-5 or something. Honestly, we’ve won so much it’s gotten a little stale. Fun, but I’m not hungry for natties in football at the moment.

But it feels like we’ve finally made a culture change not just in basketball but in the entire athletic department that “but muh footbawl” isn’t the standard anymore. We will demand excellence from every team and we won’t fear change to get it. Baseball was the first example and is trending in the right direction and now basketball looks promising and its fun to hope for the future again. Football will always be lead dog and we haven’t won a damn thing on the court yet. But so far, the hype promises a helluva product on the floor. I can’t wait to see the results.

I don’t always agree with you, but I will here. His style of play may not be a good fit, but Smith just doesn’t seem like a good fit for any high-major program. There’s really nothing he does well other than boxout and even then he never is the one that actually grabs the board. At least Fleming is a threat to score. Center is by far our biggest concern next year. Donta Hall is a big hole to fill. Really hope we hit the grad transfer market for an SEC-starting quality big.

My ideal finish to the roster changes:

- Watford commits
- Wood and Smith transfer
- We sign a grad transfer C (starter quality) and grad transfer backup PG (backup quality)

If Reese can get stronger and add a some muscle he could be the prototypical big man for gOats system.
