Man, we really were playing 2on5 these last 2 games. Pettys elbow was messed up and was nowhere close on his shot, Herbs got 1 hand, Our 3 Centers are useless. It was basically Kira Lewis and Jaden Shackleford.

This team had some glaring issues all season long, but the injuries are really the story of the season. Collectively, they were the difference in probably at least a handful of games. And not just injuries that kept players out of games, or the entire season. I'm not sure Davis was 100% the last half of the season. And Reese was a different player after his injury that he's played through.

It's frustrating after playing ourselves into the tournament discussion, then playing ourselves right back out of that conversation, but we finished the season about where I expected. And we saw glimpses of what an Oats coached team clicking on all cylinders can do. So there are some positives to take from the season and build on for next year.

That’s true, and in a perfect world Petty comes back. Worst case scenario he still gets picked up by a G league team after next season. So many guys go out for the draft every year that should’ve came back though. I couldn’t really fault him if he leaves, goes to the G league and gets paid while working on the rest of his game. I hope he comes back. He would probably be the focal point of our offense.

I think Petty probably goes. He has the child so he could probably use the money. Probably wouldn’t get drafted but as some here have said he’d have no trouble catching on in the G league. He’s a 3 and D type who can bring some energy. And he just saw Donta have success going that route. Plus, he’s been here longer than he probably ever thought he would be. When he was being recruited, some saw him as a one and done like Sexton.

Oats knows we need immediate help.
Gonna be an active offseason.

Love his comments . Seems he took this year to sit back and evaluate things and players (everybody had a clean slate ) but he has his finger on the pulse of the program and will beat the bushes to find his type players that we can realistically get

Pretty sad when his teenage daughter has to speak up and take up for them on Twitter from some jackass FOG that doesn't know his a-hole from his elbow about basketball. Even Drew DeArmond called him out for being an idiot.

As bad as Reese was he still out-rebounded and outscored Galin and Davis combined most nights with a hip he is gonna have to have surgery on.

I personally will be surprised if Reese leaves, he is our only big out of the three that played this year who fit this system.

I think Davis and Smith are gone and Beetle and Kira obviously, and we sign 4, 5 if Petty leaves.

He may not have a choice if his effort doesn't improve.

Thursday's game may be the last audition for a few players.
For some their fate may already be sealed.

We don't even know for sure that Oats was talking to Reese in that viral timeout I heard from someone else who would probably know, that he was yelling at Davis.

I don't think Reese would get nearly as much PT next year even if he stays with Rojas, Gary, Hawkins, Ambrose, grad transfer big all potentially being in play. He may leave on his own because he will get less PT, just don't see Oats forcing him out.

I don't think Smith, Davis, or Reese would get much PT next year, Reese is better than the other two though and a better fit.

I personally wouldn't mind if Reese, Smith, Davis, and Forbes are all forced out but realistically I don't think it will happen. We would have to sign probably 7 players.

I could see us signing 5 potentially, 3 guards, Ambrose, and an athletic big.
