All I wanted to see this season was hustle and heart. Ending the season like this makes me sick. Have some pride in yourself, damn

No doubt in my mind that us regressing went hand in hand with Herb getting injured then Petty. When Herb when down we regressed then when Petty went down the bottom fell out. We were already thin before the two injuries. Call it making up excuses, sunshine pumping or whatever if you want, but that's realistically what happened.

At least one for sure.

i know Im in the minority but I think Hawkins stays and ends up being a good player for us. I really like his highlights andI don’t think Oats would signed him if he didn’t have a plan for him. Oats has spoken a few times about how high Hawkins upside is.

If Nate wants to keep Hawkins, he’d better have a meeting with him and tell him so. That kid is frustrated and I would be too if I couldn’t get minutes with that bunch of tampon holders on the court. I’m sure he feels like he’s not going to play if he couldn’t play this season and Nate bringing in reinforcements.

True but a lot of big men dont play their first year and need some time to develop. Hopefully Hawkins can see that and make some strides this offseason.

This team did not improve over the course of the season

I kind of disagree. There was some pretty obvious growth and improvement from several guys over the course of the season, it just didn't last all season for most of them.

Kira and Shack have only gotten better over the course of the season. Would love to have Kira back, but i'm not expecting it. Shack should be an even better player next year with better conditioning and more experience. Bright future for him.

Herb has had an injury riddled season, so it's a little unfair to judge him in that regard, but he's shown uncanny leadership and toughness this season. I expect him to be a very good basketball player next season. Hope he can improve some more offensively though.

Petty improved big time and was having by far his best season until the recent elbow injury. He should have a great season next year, assuming he will be here. He will be really hard to replace if he leaves.

Reese was making some strides for a little while, but then regressed and became a worse player than he's ever shown to be here before. I hope he is gone after this season. Please be gone after this season. Good riddance.

Javian showed flashes here and there. He can be a valuable asset to this team if he continues to improve and gains some consistency, even though he isn't tailor made for this system. If he can be replaced with a better player that fits us better, then that should happen.

Galin didn't necessarily improve, but i'm pretty sure he has absolutely maxed out his potential. He's just not a P5 quality big and is a dreadful fit for what we do. He hustles and does the best he is able to, but I hope he moves on after this season.

Beetle - meh. Not entirely sure how healthy he was all season, but I was way off on what I was expecting out of him. What a colossal disappointment. I wish him well, but I won't miss him.

Forbes ended up having a really disappointing freshman season. For a minute I thought he was about to turn a corner and be a player for us, but it never happened. On one hand i'm not ready to give up on him yet, but on the other i'm not seeing how he will actually turn out to be a difference maker. If he can be replaced with a better player that fits us better, then that should happen.

Who the hell knows about Hawkins. I think he played like six minutes this year or something. If he can be replaced with a better player that fits us better, then that should happen.

Hopefully Jelly, Keon, Rojas, and Gary are good college basketball players that fit what we want to do.

Saying we have a bright future is just speculation at this point. We’ve said the same exact thing about Grant and Avery.

I remember we were worried at one point if Duke was going to snatch Avery away once Coach K retires lol

The mental collapse the last 3 weeks is a kick to the pants.

Wins and losses whatever, but to take our normal MO and inject it with steroids is.......well that shite is hard to take.

I have no problem with Reese staying next year. He is serviceable , but he needs to be deep down the rotation fir a few minutes a game .... not a starter

Nah, I doubt it.

They won't fire him for one bad year and he won't retire after this bad of a year after a HOF worthy career imo.

The most disappointing thing is the lack of effort. I can take losing if we are busting our arse and hustling. And I know effort is an individual thing, but Oats and his staff have eat some of the blame on that as well. We weren’t ready to play against A&M or Vandy. And they just flat quit on him today. Today was as bad as anything in the Avery era.

I don’t want him to retire. I’d like for him to go out after a nice run in the tournament.

Don't remember us ever having this many injuries at any point in the Avery era. At Buffalo Oats would play 9 or 10 players every game, that's how many you need to play as fast as he wants. We only have about 6 healthy players and 4 of them suck, 3 of them are centers.

We've got Petty and Herb out there playing with injuries to their shooting arm/hand.
