Start Hawkins and have him “Sweep the Leg” on Perry.

He has been pretty awful lately. So expect him to drop 30

"And as was noted above, his biggest issue was probably defensively (which was also a concern with Shack)."
Agree 100%. I still contend that Lawson would have been a solid contributor on the offensive end. We will always have the behind the back pass to remember. But getting posted up by 6'1 guards on the other end would have been ugly.

Hartselle has a kid that just finished his junior year that reminds me of Lawson. Brody Peebles is his name. He's not as flashy as Lawson, but can flat out score the basketball. I've seen him have tons of success at elite AAU tournaments. But he hasn't gotten a sniff from Bama as far as I can tell. I think he's currently committed to Liberty. I think he could thrive in the Oats system.

Root hard for UNC tonight at home vs. NC State. They are in a similar must-win situation and a Wolfpack loss could likely mean the ACC only gets 4 teams into the tournament according to the pundits. Plus the Carolina win helps our SOS.

If I was still invested I would definitely do this. Thankfully I’m not

We did a good job taking Perry out of the game last time and him getting in foul trouble him only playing 23 minutes was huge.

We did a really good job rebounding vs them which was also huge, they are one of the best rebounding teams in the country and we out-rebounded them by 4.

Our bigs played one of their better games. Smith, Davis, and Reese combined for 15 rebs and 22 points and they all stayed out of foul trouble. We will need similar production from them tonight.

Petty and Lewis both had good games and when they both are playing well and scoring is when we are at our best. They both played well vs Ole Miss the other night and just like vs Miss State we won by a lot. Hopefully they can both get hot again tonight.

That this Brody kid you mention is listed at 6-2 and a ranked recruit offered by a solid Liberty program along with UAB seems a different level than Lawson.

Just from seeing Lawson in person at games, I thought even his 5-11 listed height was a probably a stretch.

At that height, you have to an impressive athlete to not be such a defensive liability that it changes even the style defense your team can run

Shackelford doesn't have pure athletic traits that really jump out but he is a decent sized college guard at around 6-3.

I'm surprised teams haven't put Kira in more iso's on Defense. Make him guard ever trip down the court and either get him in foul trouble or wear him out. We are nowhere near the same team when he's on the bench.

Brody Peebles

Hartselle grad, here

I was talking with an area coach about him during the Ole Miss game

He’s a deceptively talented scorer, but if you look at his ppg, it’s propped up a little by the defense they run. He plays the point on the 1-3-1, so he gets out on the break a ton on long rebounds and turnovers.

Also, I think he has a good bit more size than Schaffer

We need bets on when Beetle will foul out.

I’m going to say he fouls out with 12:30 left on the clock

Kind of weird seeing Richmond on the bubble above us when we beat them pretty solidly. Hopefully that head to head comes into play when the selection committee looks at the teams.

I hope he makes me eat my words with 20+ point games in our next 4, but Bolden is possibly my least favorite transfer of the last decade. And if you count JUCOs as transfers that list includes Moussa "If You Replaced My Hands With Frying Pans It Would Be An Improvement" Gueye. He was at one of the very few programs where running a one man bump and run press starting with a hip check at midcourt was something you could actually get away with. Now he isn't and he can't exactly do much good for us because the dude gets in foul trouble during fricking warmups.

I’m playing it safe and going second. A big part of me thought it would be the first, but Oats won’t let that happen

Nothing like watching the Auburn home game first, just to show how lucky some teams are
