We need to just win and we're in

Screw all this calculus to get enough wins, let’s just win the damn SEC dance and get the auto bid.

One of these years, we are going to be safely in come the end of February . No more bubble sweating ...... I choose to believe this

Hopefully that becomes a regular thing starting next year.

I'd love nothing more than to be 19-5 by the middle of February and playing for seeding over the final few weeks of the season.

I'd even take 17-9 on February 13 - no way we'd be sweating making the NCAAT in that situation come SECT time

For real though, I don't think Oats is anywhere close to getting Avery's "coaching" out of their systems, but he's making progress. They are still struggling to figure out how to win, but no one is straight up kicking their asses. Even early in the season when it felt like we were overmatched a lot, it has never felt like they gave up on the game and just started playing for the buzzer, which is something they did all the fricking time with Avery. Last year if we start out the way we did @Auburn we'd have gotten boat raced and ended up losing by 35.

Wow...Every year Avery found a way to outdo the previous years collapse.

I hope that one day I too will be paid millions of dollars to coach my son's basketball team.

According to TeamRankings.com, the Crimson Tide would be a virtual lock (99.9 percent) if it won its remaining six regular-season games, giving it 20 wins on the season. Alabama’s percentage to make the tournament is still rather high with 19 wins (99.2 percent) as well as 18 wins (95.1 percent) but drops off dramatically with only 17 wins (72.2 percent).

I'll be honest I just don't buy the 18 wins %.
If we go 6-0 or 5-1 we'll be in great shape. 4-2 and we're right in the middle.

Yeah, I’m a little perplexed by that as well. If we only get to 18 wins and there 6-8 bids stolen, I just don’t see how we’d get in.

Yep, and it's really hard to even have percentages considering all the possibilities of championship week PLUS the fact that human beings make these choices PLUS the relative newness of the NET.

I have no idea how complex their formula is for producing these percentages.
Is it literally only taking us and our potential results into account, or is it also considering every other teams potential results in addition to ours?
My guess is that it is only taking us into account for those percentages which would give me the impression that it is closer to a BS guess than it is to being something that should be relied on.
I wonder how accurate they have been in years past?
