Oat's gotta be frustrated not having consistent shooters that makes his offense go.
Some of our guy's gas tank seems to be on E before February.

Our only hope is getting some big production from players that we never expect it from.

I really hope we can bring in two graduate transfers so that Galin and Headshot are encouraged to find greener pastures.

Is that a choice we have to make though?
I get it’s not. I’m just saying that I’m looking long term with this team, and I’ve liked what I’ve seen.
I’m not gonna get worked up over making the tournament just to lose quickly when I already believe in the long term trajectory our coach has us on.

Ah yes, got ya. Totally agree.

Any else think we didn’t play all that bad? We were 10 for 38 behind the arc and were getting open shots that just weren’t falling. Also LSU was absolutely money in the contested mid range
This was much more “not our night” than “we played awful”

Kira, Petty, and Jones have to be tired. Shack steps up every five games or so. Forbes would be huge. If Smith could be productive it would really help.
Smith peaked his freshman year during the SEC tournament

I agree if we are just talking about the second half.
First half was pretty awful though.

We played awful the last 12-14 minutes of the first half. It snowballed and they quit trying for a stretch.

Defense was pretty bad, but anyone could’ve told us LSU would beat us up. They’re a hell of an off the bus squad.

No one player is safe. Stop fricking up and turning the ball over. Hit your damn free throws or else.

Yea, which is why I'm not quite getting the melt our face off reaction to this game.
We didn't play great on defense and didn't make shots. LSU was always gonna dominate the glass. What exactly did people expect?

Or else what? We cut half the 8 man roster and play white walk ons the rest of the season?
Losing 125-67 will be awesome. That'll show um!

Yea but what are you gonna do when you have 7 scholarship players and they are in the bonus 8 minutes in

I was really afraid of this kind of game tonight when I saw the advanced stats. A team as efficient offensively as LSU is getting a lot of good looks at high percentage shots: Most likely shots inside the paint. And they make them unlike us. So that was a really bad matchup for us. Combine that with a meh night from 3 and getting our arse handed to us again on the glass and you usually take an arse whooping. We did.
It is what it is. Yes, they probably will win the return match too unless we get hot behind the arc. Hopefully Arkansas is a better matchup and we’d better come ready to play. Oats has his work cut out for him. This team could go into a funk real fast if he doesn’t pull their heads out of their asses.

We got absolutely worked on the glass (especially offensive) for the second game in a row. We’re not beating any half decent team the rest of the year spotting them a 15+ point margin in second chance points unless we hit 20 3s.
