I’m a little more worried about this game than I feel I should be. The injury situation inside concerns me a little as K State prefers to go inside and we all know that is our kryptonite. We haven’t played well the last couple of games and the Wildcats record may be a little deceiving like ours. The Big XII is a better league than the SEC from top to bottom although it may be a little top heavy this year. Everyone is patting Bama on the back and telling them how good they are playing despite our recent sloppiness. I dont like the way everyone is putting this one in the W column already.

Talk me off the ledge guys; is it just Bama basketball PTSD or are my concerns legit?

8.5 is a low spread.
K.State last 2 road games, Texas won by 14, KU won by 21.
Last 2 home games, loss to TexTech by 14, did upset West Virginia last Saturday by 16.
I also saw mid December they loss to Miss.St by 6.
I like our chances to keep the spread streak going & move on to 12-7.

Iowa State is missing everything against Auburn.....but yet they went 15/29 from 3 against us.

I would describe our team as being very well coached but not deep and missing a couple of pieces whether it be due to injury, the NCAA ratfricking us, or us simply not having certain types of players on the roster. So what you are feeling is partially caused by Bama basketball PTSD but still a reasonable concern to have. We are good enough to beat most teams if we have a hot shooting night but we aren't good enough to frick around and still beat most teams either. I disagree with your belief that we have played poorly the last few games though. Vandy was the first below average performance we have had since the Bahamas. If not for Mizzou being perfect from the line that game would have been a wire to wire beatdown. And Mizzou isn't great or anything but they aren't hot garbage like Vandy either. If we play like we have at home all season minus the opener we should win this game.

Iowa State is either red hot or ice cold from outside. They have made less than 1/3 of their 3pt attempts in 9 of their 18 games and 40% or more of their 3s in 4 of the other 9 games. We were one of the unfortunate 4 who caught them on a rare hot night.

On the suspensions, 1 was being redshirted & the other was a minimum minute bench player.

Andy Katz latest bracket doesn't have us on it, not even in the last teams out. He does have Miss St as one of the last 4 out which is weird.

I'm not one to put much creedence in January bracket predictions but we are running out of games where we can get quality wins. We basically have 4 left not counting the SECT, @LSU, Arky, @Auburn, @Miss St. I think we for sure need to beat Arky plus win one of those other three, and not lose any we shouldn't along the way. I have faith that we will do it.

Y'all really need to stop stressing over the brackets made by these ESPN hacks. I mean yeah if we lose a couple of games we shouldn't then we aren't making the tournament because in typical Bama basketball fashion we wasted all those bullets during OOC play, but if we take care of business at home and steal one or two more on the road we will be in good shape for a bid.

Yea, no reason to pay attention right now. There’s so much time and so many things can change.
