It is a relief to see the team not look lazy coming out of half. Still early in Oats' tenure, but it's a good sign to see him have the same intensity no matter the score.

The way we had Belmont gasping for air 10 minutes into the 2nd half was awesome.
We literally made their bodies quit for a solid 3-4 minutes, and during that stretch we basically put the game away.

Are we actually getting better?

Yup, solid win. Hell Belmont was favored by 1.5 points.

We moved up 7! spots in KenPom. Up to #68. Want to know how well we've been playing lately?
KenPom ranking after each game
Stephen F Austin - #85
Penn State - #80
Samford - #75
Belmont - #68
That my friends is how you spell out improvement

Scored 92 points and Beetle only had 3 of them...nice.
Off topic, but I think Ohio State is the best team in the country

I think so. To be honest, I don't think we've been terrible all season. New coach, new system, and a new demand for intensity takes time and they've been doing it against a VERY solid OOC schedule.
I may be wrong but I thing there are going to be some conference foes (or at least fans) that look at the record and get a real shock when the games start.

I'm still concerned with depth and injuries once we get to the grind of conference play, but we are absolutely going to give some people headaches. Not to mention.......the league isn't that good this year.
- South Carolina, Vanderbilt and Texas A&M are bad
- Georgia, Ole Miss and Missouri are relatively similar to us
- Mississippi State and LSU have lots of deficiencies
- Florida is offensively miserable
- Tennessee just lost Turner for the year
- Arkansas is kind of a mystery given their schedule so far
- That leaves Kentucky and Auburn, and while Auburn is very solid they are not terrifyingly elite. And Kentucky has already shown a lot of flaws.
So, basically, there aren't going to be many nights in conference play where we are just outclassed. We'll have bad shooting nights and come across teams that we are mismatched with personnel wise (State comes to mind with their length), but when we have solid defensive nights and shoot it well we can beat anyone in the league.

This must be what it was like for LSU fans to see a modern football offense

I think Auburn is a good team but I feel like they are a little bit of Fools Gold so far. Just my opinion

Just got home from the game. Nice win. They're getting better every week on both ends of the court. If they could avoid those stretches where they turn the ball over 4 possessions in a row and don't make a shot for four minutes, it would do wonders. The crowd wasn't quite as good as I expected, but it was probably 2/3 full. I thought it was pretty much sold out, but maybe some of the UAH fans left?
It's also the weirdest thing to see Bama run a designed play and score easily. I didn't know that was even allowed.

They are a very solid team, but I don't think they are a Top 10 type team. They've played a good schedule, but they haven't played any Top 25 caliber teams yet.
20-22 win team, #6-8 seed in the NCAAT type team IMHO. Which is pretty damn good for a "year after" team. Pearl has done an incredible job.
